Dear Parents and Guardians,
When You Thought I Wasn’t Looking
When you thought I wasn’t looking I saw you hang my first painting on the refrigerator and I wanted to paint another one.
When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw you feed a stray cat and I thought it was good to be kind to animals.
When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw you make my favourite cake just for me and I knew that little things are special things.
When you thought I wasn’t looking, I heard you say a prayer and I believed there is a God I could always talk to.
When you thought I wasn’t looking, I felt you kiss me good night and I felt loved.
When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw tears come from your eyes and I learned that sometimes things hurt, but it is ok to cry.
When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw that you cared and I wanted to be everything that I could be.
When you thought I wasn’t looking, I looked – and wanted to say thanks for all the things I saw when you thought I wasn’t looking.

Please join us for our first school Mass on September 26, 2012 at 11:00 am. Father would also like to remind each of you that the presence of your family at Mass is very welcomed. If your child is ready to participate in First Reconciliation, First Communion or Confirmation please let him know as all classes take place in the church!

Bussing Procedures
It is a privilege to ride a school bus whether it is back and forth from school or during a class trip. It is vitally important to remind and review all bus expectations with your child as to keep everyone safe. The students from Kindergarten to grade 8 will review safety procedures with First Student; the bus company our school Board is affiliated with.
Student Updates: The safety of your children is always our first concern. Please help us by contacting the school whenever there is a change to your address, telephone number(s) or emergency contact.
Absents and Lates: Parents please call the school and leave a message if your child is going to be late or absent. If you are picking your child up for an appointment or because s/he is late please come to the office to sign them out.
Fire Drills and Lockdowns: are practiced seasonally. Each school is expected to practice 3 Fire Drills in the Fall and 3 Fire Drills in the Spring. One Lockdown is practiced in the Fall and another practiceis completed in the Spring.

School agendas have arrived! They are strongly recommended for students in gr. 1-8 as they can help students develop strong organizational and time management skills. Parents can also review all school expectations and the Code of Conduct with their child. These agendas can be purchased from your child’s classroom teacher for $6.00.
Anaphylaxis
Anaphylaxis is a rapid, severe and life-threatening allergic reaction, caused by exposure to trigger (allergen). Common allergen triggers are foods, insect stings, medications, exercise and latex rubber. An Anaphylactic reaction involves symptoms from two or more body parts and may include: hives, swollen, itchy eyes, running itchy nose, swollen sore throat, vomiting and cramps, difficulty breathing or severe asthmatic reaction.
An Anaphylactic shock episode must be considered an emergency and must be treated immediately usually with injected medication (epinephrine using EpiPen/AnaKit).
Anaphylactic shock can be prevented by not exposing the allergic student to those substances that trigger a reaction. Please let us know if your child has any allergic reactions to certain trigger foods. I encourage all students to carry their own EpiPen, as this would allow for immediate use if a reaction does occur during school hours.
