Dear ,

I am writing to inform you of a pending change in my clinical practice structure that will impact your psychotherapy treatment. In order to fulfill some changing family obligations, I will be moving to a semi-retirement status effective January 1, 2017. That is, I will be on extended leave each winter, then will return and be in the office three days per week the remainder of the year. In 2017, my plans are to be away from the area from January 1st through February 28th. In your next session, we can discuss in detail what is the best clinical solution for continuing your psychotherapy within these parameters. Your options include a) transfer to another clinician, b) remaining in treatment with me with a gap in service provision during the time I am away but with emergency local psychological coverage in place, or, c) for patients with Highmark health insurance only, continuing therapy while I am away via remote video-conferenced therapy sessions. In each of these scenarios, I am committed to working closely together with you to come up with a solution that best meets your needs.

Thank you for your trust in me and the honor of working with you in therapy. Please feel free to discuss with me in your next session any questions or concerns you may have on this issue.

Sincerely,

Catherine S. Spayd, Ph.D.
