Gwinnett edge is a professional magazine and the official publication of the Gwinnett Chamber. The magazine serves as the voice of the Chamber and is a must-read for members and local business and community leaders, with an editorial platform that reflects the sophisticated tastes of its readers – the movers and shakers of Gwinnett’s business community. As the most complete business resource in the community, Gwinnett edge is a modern, relevant, 48-page, full-color, bi-monthly magazine. The publication delivers success stories, real solutions, and business tactics along with in-depth articles on local business and community issues. In addition, with the opportunity for members to submit editorial content, Gwinnett edge offers increased visibility and recognition.

Planning/Content: The target market includes existing members, prospective members and key community leaders and groups. In addition to being mailed to Chamber members, the publication serves as a recruitment tool to attract business professionals, companies and organizations to the Chamber.

The magazine content is as follows:

  • News Desk – A lively look at what’s happening in the Gwinnett business community. Includes news briefs, hires, promotions, transactions, stats, quotes and factoids.
  • The Pulse – News and updates from inside the Chamber. Includes programs, event calendar, event photos, new members, member profiles and the Business of the Month.
  • Strategies – Insights direct from local experts and executives. Topics include networking, finance, government/legislation, environment, healthcare, philanthropy, diversity, HR, insurance, real estate and construction, technology, sales and marketing, legal, franchising and leadership.
  • Trending – Commodities, community and culture in Gwinnett. Includes new products and innovations, lifestyles, 5 Things to Know About… and What’s On Your Desk?

Also included is an editorial from the Chamber’s President & CEO, which offers insight into growth, innovation, leadership and community trends at the national and international level while tying these issues in with what is happening at the Chamber.

The total budget for each printed issue is $11,000. The total ad sales per issue averaged $13,000.

Results: Gwinnett edge is published in such a way that delivers the Chamber’s primary mission of fostering a pro-business environment to key stakeholder groups. The result is a professional publication that communicates the Chamber’s mission and key messages, increasing customer loyalty and generating additional revenue for the organization. A key measurement of the publication’s effectiveness is its first-year ad revenue. In the first year, Gwinnett edge realized a 700% increase in ad revenue from the previous year as a tabloid newsletter. By its second year, ad sales were up more than 1,100%.
