Salary Scale: Zone 3 Grade D – Sessional salary £9.92 p/h (plus extra 12% allowance)
2. Job Summary
This post presents an exciting opportunity to be part of the development and delivery of a youth reparation service.
The Reparation team, commissioned by the Bristol Youth Offending Service, identify and manage a range of community reparation placements that are suitable for young people aged 10-18. You will also undertake assessments and supervision of young offenders carrying out reparation, plus take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of young people and volunteers involved with the service.
The post-holder will work as part of the area team, working flexibly according to the needs of the service. The main responsibility relates to delivery of reparation and the supervision of young people within community placements.
3. Organisational Relationships
· Directly responsible to the Reparation Unit Co-ordinator and Service Manager.
· Maintain regular contact with other staff members throughout Catch22 as appropriate.
4. Main Duties
· Identifying and arranging appropriate opportunities for community reparation that are suitable for young people aged 10-18
when reparation direct to the victim is not possible.
· To undertake assessments and supervision of young people carrying out one to ones, project work and reparation.
· Taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety of young people and volunteers involved with the service.
· Ensure effective, timely and efficient record keeping.
· Assist in undertaking regular Health and Safety risk assessments of reparation sites and monitor the quality of individual placements by undertaking site visits and carrying out ‘exit’ interviews with young people to ensure the safety of young people and quality of delivery.
· Liaise and communicate effectively with the Reparation Unit, all service users, colleagues and visitors to the project
· To attend regular team meetings and supervision as specified within the Catch22 policies.
· Attend all mandatory training in line with Catch22’s training policy.
· To network and establish links with relevant outside organisations and attend meetings or presentations as necessary.
· To maintain satisfactory records of all work undertaken.
· Provide cover for the team due to sickness, annual leave etc or for other members of the locality team where possible
· Preparing reports and case studies as requested.
· Undertake other activities as specified by the Service Co-ordinator and Service Manager.
5. Other
· Seek to improve his/her own performance, contribution, knowledge, skills and participate in training and developmental activities as required.

Essential Qualifications
Any relevant qualifications i.e. GCSE, A-Level, B-TEC, NVQ, HND youth work etc / Application form

Essential Experience
Experience of working with young offenders, young people ‘at risk’, and/or victims of crime; and knowledge of key issues faced by the young people today. / Interview & Application Form
Must have some knowledge or experience of youth work, and the Criminal Justice System.
Desirable Experience
· Experience of working in a multi-agency environment
· Experience of taking a lead role in co-ordinating confidential referrals in line with priority requests or dealing with confidential documents of a sensitive nature. / Interview & Application Form
· Familiarity with the youth justice system, including the legislative framework
· Knowledge/experience of Safeguarding Procedures, Health & Safety and Equal Opportunities
· Experience of being a volunteer or working with volunteers
