Crewe Lyceum Theatre is one 12 venues within HQ Theatres & Hospitality’s (HQT&H) current portfolio of regional theatres and concert halls. HQT&H currently manages 18 auditoria on behalf of local authorities, with capacities ranging from a 200 seat arts centre to a 2,400 seated/standing theatre. Last year HQT&H programmed a total of 2,354 shows which attracted attendances of over 1.5 million.

REPORTING

You will report directly to the Building and Technical Manager.

Job Description

To assist the technical management team in all technical duties related to the productions. Duties will include show running, get-ins and get-outs, maintenance of toured or venue equipment. Duties will also include day to day maintenance of the venue. The position is a casual post.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Key Responsibilities:

  • To assist with get-ins and get-outs of all stage, rigging, lighting and sound equipment.
  • To load and unload equipment from production vehicles.
  • Operate lighting or sound desks.
  • Operate followspots.
  • Under the direction of the touring and venue staff work as part of stage or fly crew.
  • Undertake lamp rounds under the direction of the technical team.
  • To report faults and help maintain the stage and venue machinery and equipment.
  • To ensure that all work areas are kept tidy.
  • To implement and comply with the Theatre Health and Safety Policy, following safe working procedures, to maintain a safe environment for colleagues and visiting companies.
  • To maintain a cheerful and professional attitude and offer a high standard of service to visiting production staff.
  • To attend training sessions to further knowledge.
  • To complete any other delegated task that may assist the company in achieving its business objectives.
