JOB TITLE; Casual MULTI SKILLS COACH

RESPONSIBLE TO: Sports Development Officer

JOB PURPOSE

Castlereagh Borough Council Sports Development Unit currently operate Activ8 Wildcats Multi Skills Clubs in four of their centres; Belvoir Activity Centre, Lough Moss Leisure Centre, Robinson Centre and Dundonald International Ice Bowl within the Borough. These are subject to demand and numbers but it is envisaged that the coach will guaranteed 4 hours per week of multi skill coaching. The clubs are aimed at boys and girls aged 5-11 years. The Activ8 Wildcats Programme aims to develop the FUNdamental movement skills (Agility, Balance & Co-ordination) and FUNdamental sport skills (e.g. running, jumping, throwing, catching and striking) of young people in order that they can progress into the sport of their choice as a fun participant and/or performance athlete.

Ensure that all responsibilities are carried out in a timely effective manner and that general confidentiality is maintained in all issues relating to the work of the Council.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Coach will be responsible for:

·  To assist in the planning and delivery of the Activ8 Wildcats programme.

·  To coach the multi skills activity programme for young people aged

4 – 11 years within a leisure centre setting

·  To adapt the programme or physical activity as and when necessary to meets the needs of groups or individuals participants.

·  To maintain a record of attendance of Activ8 Wildcat Club participants and to ensure monitoring and evaluation forms are completed for each participant

·  Instruction in the safe and beneficial use of equipment where appropriate.

General

Act in accordance with the Code of Conduct for Local Government employees

Comply and actively promote the Council’s policies and procedures as directed.

Comply with and actively promote the Council’s Health and Safety Policy and procedures.

Undertake the foregoing duties in such a way as to enhance and protect the reputation and public profile of the Council.

Any other duties as may be allocated from time to time in accordance with the general nature of the post.
