Casino Control (Fees) Regulations 2015

S.R. No. 27/2015

1Objectives

The objectives of these Regulations are to prescribe—

(a)fees to accompany applications made under the Casino Control Act 1991 in relation to special employee licences; and

(b)fees for the issue of replacement special employee licences; and

(c)fees to accompany applications under that Act for the redefinition of the boundaries of a casino.

2Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 167 of the Casino Control Act 1991.

3Commencement

These Regulations come into operation on 26April 2015.

4Revocations

The Casino Control (Licence Fees) Regulations 2005[1] and the Casino Control (Boundary Redefinition Fee) Regulations 2005[2] are revoked.

5Fee for application for redefinition of casino boundaries

For the purposes of section 17(3) of the CasinoControl Act 1991, the prescribed fee is278·62fee units.

6Fee for application for licence

For the purposes of section 39(1) of the Casino Control Act 1991, the prescribed feeis 5·16 fee units.

7Fee for applications by persons licensed under the Gambling Regulation Act 2003

For the purposes of section 45A(2) of the Casino Control Act 1991, the prescribed feeis 3·39 fee units.

8Fee for application for renewal of licence

For the purposes of section 49(2) of the Casino Control Act 1991,the prescribed feeis 3·40 fee units.

9Fee for application for variation of licence

For the purposes of section 50(1) of the Casino Control Act 1991, the prescribed feeis 3·35 fee units.

10Fee for issue of replacement licence

For the purposes of section 51(1) of the Casino Control Act 1991, the prescribed feeis $10.72.

1General information

The Casino Control (Fees) Regulations 2015, S.R.No.27/2015 were made on 21 April 2015 by the Governor in Council under section 167 of theCasino Control Act 1991, No.47/1991 and came into operation on 26 April 2015: regulation 3.

The Casino Control (Fees) Regulations 2015 will sunset 10 years after the day of making on 21 April 2025 (see section 5 of the Subordinate Legislation Act 1994).

There are no amendments made to the Casino Control (Fees) Regulations 2015 by statutory rules, subordinate instruments and Acts.

3Amendments Not in Operation

There are no amendments which were Not in Operation at the date of this publication.

Fee Units

These Regulations provide for fees by reference to fee units within the meaning of the Monetary Units Act 2004.

The amount of the fee is to be calculated, in accordance with section 7 of that Act, by multiplying the number of fee units applicable by the value of a fee unit.

The value of a fee unit for the financial year commencing 1 July 2014 is $13.24. The amount of the calculated fee may be rounded to the nearest 10cents.

The value of a fee unit for future financial years is to be fixed by the Treasurer under section 5 of the Monetary Units Act 2004. The value of a fee unit for a financial year must be published in the Government Gazette and a Victorian newspaper before 1 June in the preceding financial year.
