INSTRUCTIONS: Have Cashier trainee ring up each “basket” of merchandisein the E4W training universe. Discuss problematic skus and how to correctly ring each sku. These scenarios should be used after basic POS instruction has been taught. These are examples of common “what do I do?” scenarios.

Explain MSU codes and the fact that you cannot manually enter a per foot price. When entering the per foot, the computer performs a calculation and generates the quantity as a decimal equivalent of the whole unit based on data we have entered.
Ring up the following sku: 4044624
Start with a Qty of 1, then ring up 3 (or more). Point out the price drop for more than 10. Explain that any item with a quantity break is set up in the computer and will happen automatically. Other examples are: 704680 (qty 45), CONC80 (qty 42).
Ring up the following sku: SFS38 (STIHL) or 0128L (HUSQVARNA)
Explain the process of locating the serial number on the equipment and then finding it in the POS. Also explain how to add a serial number if the number is not found in the POS.
Ring up the following sku: TO
Explain items found on the Tool Table and how to properly ring them up by using the TO sku and entering the price. Explain that only items from JMK/IIT should be done this way!
Discuss procedures for returning items that were purchased from another Ace store that your store does not stock. Discuss how to handle items that are not in your store’s history. Ideally, have an ICS, Assistant Mgr, or Manager add the item to stock before refunding. If this is not an option, discuss the proper procedure to follow.
Have trainee change the default customer to the employee discount number. Ring up any (combination of) skus. Total the sale. Have trainee scan anAce Rewards card. Discuss when it is appropriate to reprice the transaction and when they shouldn’t (employee discounts, Bag Sale, etc.).
