Case Investigator/Special Projects Coordinator

Coastal Carolina University is accepting applications for the Case Investigator/Special Projects Coordinator (Program Coordinator I). This position reports to the Vice President for Executive Initiatives.

The Case Investigator will investigate and assist in the resolution of complaints related to Title IX and general complaints including complaints related to sexual misconduct, sexual harassment/discrimination, gender-related violence (including stalking and intimate partner violence), hazing and general concerns. This individual will work closely through University policies to conduct prompt and thorough investigations; act as a neutral party and provide detailed, unbiased reporting regarding the analysis of any investigations. The role will also collaborate with division leadership on assigned projects.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years or relevant experience are required. Master's degree is preferred. Professional experience conducting investigations to include previous experience in higher education setting or a minimum of two (2) years' experience obtaining knowledge, skills and abilities in the areas of student conduct, Title IX or higher education administration preferred. Additionally, a successful candidate should possess an understanding of issues facing college students; demonstrated knowledge of Title IX, student conduct and higher education administration; attention to detail; exceptional oral and written communication skills with the ability to listen well and demonstrate sensitivity and respect for individual needs; and sound decision-making skills and ability to exercise independent judgment; excellent customer service skills, with a commitment to work as part of a University-wide community to resolve complaints in a neutral and sensitive manner; demonstrated ability to handle a significant caseload, prioritize and organize work effectively, manage multiple high priorities and deadlines, and maintain detailed records in a fast-paced environment; demonstrated commitment to diversity and success in working with diverse constituencies, (preferably both domestic and international) to support an equitable and an inclusive campus environment; handle highly confidential information and manage crisis in the college/university environment.
