HOLD ON TO THOSE RED HOLIDAY LIGHTS AFTER CHRISTMAS!

GO RED FOR FEBRUARY, AMERICAN HEART MONTH

Everyone can support the fight against heart disease in women by wearing red on February 5, 2016 — National Wear Red Day. It's a simple, powerful way to raise awareness of heart disease and stroke. But, you don’t have to stop there. This February (American Heart Month) the American Heart Association is inviting your building to Go Red. As a participant, you will join the ranks of Niagara Falls, the Empire State Building, the Sears Tower, the Seattle Space Needle, Times Square as America Goes Red this February.

The American Heart Association launched Go Red For Women in 2004 due to the fact that close to 500,000 women per year are dying of heart disease. We’ve made great strides, but heart disease is still killing more women than the next four causes of death combined, including all forms of cancer. Many women are unaware of this fact, and few believe that heart disease is their greatest health threat.

Turning your facility red can be as simple as placing signage and materials in your lobby or changing your outside bulbs to red. The possibilities are endless! And the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women movement can provide free resources for your business to effectively Go Red.

We encourage your building to “go red” on Friday, February 5, and, if possible, stay red throughout the February. As a supporter of this movement, you will receive many resources, including:

  • Artwork for a sign that explains your efforts to Go Red. This will be sent to you in a high-resolution format that you be printed.
  • A special window cling to demonstrate your support of the Go Red movement (as supplies permit).
  • Downloadable educational materials for your to make available to your customers, visitors and employees.
  • Link to electronic Wear Red Day kit filled with additional artwork, facts sheets, ideas and more.
  • Alignment with the American Heart Association, the leading brand power of Go Red For Women and our mission to build healthier lives free of cardiovascular disease and stroke.

To register your building to Go Red for February, and to receive the resources listed above, please fill out and submit this form by January 23, 2016.

ABOUT GO RED FOR WOMEN

Go Red For Women is the American Heart Association's national movement to end heart disease and stroke in women because it’s not just a man’s disease. In fact, more women than men die every year from heart disease and stroke. The good news is that 80 percent of cardiac events can be prevented with education and lifestyle changes. Go Red For Women advocates for more research and swifter action for women's heart health. The American Heart Association's Go Red For Women movement is nationally sponsored by Macy's, with additional support from our cause supporters. For more information, please visit GoRedForWomen.org or call 1-888-MY-HEART (1-888-694-3278).
