CAROLINE AND ART STOECKER SCHOLARSHIP

NAME:This scholarship shall be known as the Caroline and Art Stoecker Scholarship. Caroline (Billings) Stoecker was an early graduate of Jetmore (Niederacher) High School. She attended Fort Hays State College and taught in elementary schools for many years in Hodgeman County. Caroline and Art Stoecker were long term supporters of higher education.

QUALIFICATIONS:This scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior or recent graduate of Hodgeman County High School who is enrolled in an approved course of study (at least 12 semester credit hours), in an accredited college or university. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of scholarship and financial need. First preference will be given to those who plan to major in education or agriculture. This scholarship is awarded for a maximum or one academic year but must be renewed at the beginning of each term. The recipient must maintain a 2.5 grade point average (on a 4 point system).

AMOUNT:The amount of the award will be $800.00. One half of the award will be available to the recipient after the add and drop period of each semester.

CHOICE OF

RECIPIENT:The choice of the recipient shall be made by a committee composed of the following people: a) high school principal b) high school counselor, c) a member of the Hodgeman County High School faculty, and d) a member of the community. The high school principal shall serve as chairman of the committee.

CUSTODY

OF FUNDS:Art & Barbara Stoecker agree to act as custodian of all funds in connection with this scholarship. They will disburse the funds to the recipient selected after all points have been met. It is the responsibility of the recipient to present proof of enrollment to:

APPLICATION:An application form may be obtained from the Hodgeman County High School counselor or may be printed on the back of this information sheet. The application is due to the high school counselor by April 15th of the year of the application. Applicants for this scholarship may be considered for this scholarship without completing an additional application.
