In September 2011 I was offered the exciting opportunity to join Innovate HMG as Operations Director. The company is the UK division of a well-established case management company in the US called Healthcare Resource Group (HCRG).
I believe, my clinical and case management experience combined with my operations and business background will enable me to contribute to the knowledge and skills already apparent on the CMSUK board of directors.

- To contribute to the financial growth and stability of CMSUK via increasing corporate membership from the defendant insurance and corporate sectors utilising my own networking and contacts
- To organise a CMSUK study day based on ‘Case management and the Corporate Sector’ focussing on the effectiveness of case managers to manage short to long term absence and discuss models used. Nicole Thompson, Business Development Officer, Nuffield Health (Current CMSUK Director)
Nominated by:Helen Ryan, Head of Intensive Rehabilitation, HCML (CMSUK Director)
Carole Chantler, Director of Clinical Services, DWF (CMSUK Chair)
Nominee Biography:
Having started my career as an Occupational Therapist in 1998 in the NHS, I diversified into the world of injury management in 2002 in Australia. Returning to the UK, I worked at HCML as the Head of Clinical Services for over 6 years, where my role was fundamental to the training; clinical standards & quality of case managers. I continued to practise as a case manager, specialising in spinal cord injuries – using essential clinical skills I gained working within the NHS in specialist Neurology and Spinal Injury Units. I have since left the world of Personal Injury and am the Business Development Director for Corporate Wellbeing at Nuffield Health. I work closely together with large corporate and private medical insurance companies in identifying & implementing health and wellbeing strategies with the most cost effective solution and the best outcomes for their employees with the focus on physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
Nominee Aims for the 3 year Directorship:
Having already served a 3 year term as on the board of directors at CMSUK, my previous contribution was within the Education committee and utilising my experience as a case management within PI. With my change in role and being a supplier of services (Physiotherapy) to mainly the private medical insurance industry, I hope to bring diversity to CMSUK.
Private medical insurance pays for medical intervention and rehabilitation with often no guidance or governance as to what is the best treatment for the claimant. Services are often provided in a disjointed manner, however more and more insurers are appreciating the value that the case management model brings in managing these claims.
My aim as director would be to increase the exposure of CMSUK within the private medical insurance industry as well as reach out to those who are practising case management within this area.
