Carman Golf & Curling Club is currently seeking a Food & Beverage Manager

Overview

This is a 7 month a year, salaried position reporting directly to the General Manager. The position is fully responsible for all aspects of the food and beverage operation. The position is engaged in the selection of personnel, their ongoing development, administering the compensation policy, along with the hiring and termination of employees.

The Food and Beverage Manager is responsible for delivering high quality and efficient service to a wide range of patrons and functions. These patrons and functions include club members, green fee or public play patrons and other guests of the establishment.

The position coordinates delivery of service to banquets, corporate meetings and tournaments, works directly with the General Manager to adequately coordinate and price such tournaments.

The Food and Beverage Manager is responsible for the preparation and completion of budgets, forecasts, and reports within established parameters, while maintaining procedural and cost controls to ensure the maximization of profitability.

Main Responsibilities

The Food & Beverage Manager will:

-ensure the identification, hiring and training of a productive staff, within budget, to meet the needs of the club and its clientele, the administering of adequate and fair compensation policies and the ongoing management of such personnel including, as necessary, the process of termination

-preparation of annual budgets and forecasts within established parameters and the carrying out of these budgets through the process of monitoring revenues and costs in all aspects of the food and beverage area.

-oversee the reconciliation of daily sales generated through the food and beverage area and preparation and presentation of daily sales reports to the office manager in accordance with established procedures

-continuous monitoring of menu offerings and related pricing, conducting in house research and comparison shopping with competitors in order to ensure competitive pricing and customer satisfaction

-maintain satisfactory business relationships with suppliers ensuring optimum pricing and quality of product.

-oversee the customer satisfaction process as it relates to the food and beverage operations of the club either personally or through the use of competent subordinates

-ensure the completion of ongoing daily maintenance of the clubhouse and surrounding non golf area and preparing recommendations to management on a timely basis as repairs and renovations are required.

-assist with the marketing and promoting of Carman Golf & Curling Club and the Food & Beverage area through attendance at various trade shows and assist with the process of developing brochures and marketing pieces for internal and external use

-respond to banquet, party and special event enquiries with the objective to generate additional revenues for the club

-ensure adequate controls are in place regarding the opening and closing of the club house on a daily basis

-other accountabilities as identified from time to time

Maximize the use of menus, specials for both food and beverage operations. Expand the range of services and client information strategies.

Human Resources

Develop and implement on-going learning activities and other development opportunities for staff. Expand the knowledge base of employees. Rationalize long term human resource needs for the F&B Operation.

Systems and Processes

Fine-tune Information Management Systems in regards to federal, provincial and municipal regulations. Maintain cost control systems for Food & Beverage Operations.

Communications

Establish and maintain effective communications with club membership, committees, suppliers, customers and other departments.

Qualifications

-strong interpersonal skills

-self starter

-strong communication skills – written and oral

-professional in appearance and in presentation

-comprehensive understanding of computer products and systems used within the operation including but not restricted to Microsoft suite of products i.e.; MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Social Media, POS Systems, Control Systems

-ability to work in a team environment

-5 years past management experience in the food and beverage field

-understanding of the golf industry is beneficial but not essential

Salary Range

$ 30,000- $ 50,000
