Provided leadership on pricing strategy, pricing scenario analysis and pricing tool design.

 Prepared reports and presentations for senior management that summarized financial performance, budget variance, sales performance (plan vs. actuals), KPI’s, trend analysis and status of key projects.

 Created and chaired cross-functional working group (finance, operations, product management, sales) that within 6 months, identified business process or pricing changes that generated $1.6mio in EBIT improvement.

 Sponsored development of a decision support software tool that automated the calculation of pricing for 2,000+ customers based on product characteristics and customer specific pricing schemes.

Led business development and product marketing efforts focused on Swiss middle-market corporate clients (equity market cap < $6bio). Activities included the marketing of syndicated loans, investment grade bonds, convertible bonds, private placements, equity derivatives and risk management products (forex, commodities, interest rate derivatives) to CFO’s and Treasurers as well as the provision of financial advisory services that included acquisition financing options, share repurchase strategies and derivative hedge accounting treatment.

 Prepared business development plan for the Swiss market and worked to expand Barclays Capital product capabilities within the context of Swiss accounting regulations (IFRS), securities laws and tax regulations.

 Expanded franchise by establishing relationships with 6 accounts by “cold calling” the Treasurer or CFO, meeting with senior management and presenting innovative financing and risk management ideas.

 Built financial models (income statement, balance sheet, adhoc analysis…) used in evaluating the effect of financing transactions on a firms’ credit rating resulting from an acquisition, issuance of debt securities, on-going operational performance and/or repurchase of outstanding debt (debt liability management).

 Conducted discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis on financing proposals to quantify project benefits.

 Originated first commodities derivative transaction between Barclays Capital and a Swiss industrial client. Transaction valued at $1.0mio.

 Worked with corporate clients under financial distress (Swiss International Airlines, ABB) to enhance liquidity by restructuring existing debt agreements and/or structuring new secured credit facilities.

Enterprise Project Manager – Information Technology ServicesFort Worth, Texas

Led data warehouse program (budgeted at $9.8mio) whose objective was to connect isolated data in electronic commerce (aa.com), loyalty program (AAdvantage) and operations databases within a customer relationship management (CRM) framework. Responsibilities included program management, scope definition, supplier selection, resource management, budget and program schedule development.

Manager, Project Management Office

Hired and managed team of 3 direct reports who were responsible for the design and introduction a project management phase-gate methodology and portfolio tracking process for technology projects; methodology incorporated Project Management Institute (PMI) best practices (PMBOK).

Manager, Customer Services Planning

Managed project team of 15+ software engineers and business analysts that was responsible for the design, construction and implementation of an enterprise-level customer service security software tool used at American Airlines and 8 other airlines. Responsibilities included: scope management, schedule development, cost management, issue & change management, communication planning, testing and implementation planning.

 Project was completed 2 months ahead of schedule and $300,000 below planned cost of $3.1mio.

 Organizing training of 28,000 airport staff on new business processes that affected 2,200+ departures / day.

 Provided monthly project status updates (schedule, costs, scope) to senior management at American Airlines and to the Associate Administrator for Civil Aviation Security at the FAA.

Senior Industrial Engineer, Customer Resource Planning

Led business process optimization projects aimed at improving productivity, enhancing customer service and/or reducing operating costs. Responsibilities included: capacity planning, time and motion studies, staffing analysis, facility layout design, equipment resource planning, decision support software development, simulation modeling, advanced MS Excel model development and the evaluation of capital spending requests.

 Led development of software tool that optimized staffing requirements at warehouse facilities. Tool used employee union contract parameters, flight schedules, workflow models, time-study standards and freight volume forecasts to determine optimal staffing requirements. Implementation of this product resulted in $2.9mio in annual savings. Assignment involved documentation of business processes, interfacing with union personnel, presenting staffing models to senior management, project management, software testing and the training of financial analysts.

 Constructed simulation models (Simul8 software) used to quantify the service and financial impact of new airline business process proposals and to conduct “what-if” analysis. Models used process flow diagrams, probability distributions, flight schedules and demand forecasts to measure business process KPI’s.

 Supported development of AA’s $3bio annual operating budget that included financial analysis and validation of planned capital expenditures (new facility construction, equipment purchase requests).
