VACANCY
The Cargo Handling Corporation Limited, a private company with state shareholding is responsible for handling activity in the Port: Loading, unloading, delivery and reception of containers and general cargo. With a team of 1370 employees across its three distinct business unit namely, Mauritius Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and Corporate Services, CHCL offers an efficient and reliable service to the shipping community.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates who wish to be considered for appointment on a contractual basis in the post of:
Technical Manager
The Technical Manager will head the Engineering Section of the Company and will be responsible for the management and maintenance of all cargo handling and any associated equipment of the Company.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and profile:
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical) or equivalent.
2. The candidate should be duly registered with the Council of Registered Professional/Engineers of Mauritius.
3. 5 years’ experience in the engineering field.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES
Ø Strong communication, leadership and organizational skills
Ø Able to work in a very demanding and fast paced environment
Ø Able to lead, motivate and manage a team of technical staff
Ø Able to travel overseas for short periods of time
Ø Detail and results oriented
Ø Holder of a valid driving license
SALARY
The salary is negotiable and will commensurate with qualifications and experience.
