Career Orientation Visits to Armed Forces of Malta. 2006 -2007

Following please find list of schools who would like to participate in this year’s visits to AFM subunits.

I’ve asked schools to put down the subunits they would like to visit and the date preferred. However , feel free to change any of these if you can’t accomodate them with their preferred requests.

Looking forward to get the final schedule and any instructions to follow from you so that I can send them to the schools.

Attached find schedule for the Career Orientation Visit/ Talks, as you have requested, to A.F.M. sub- units.

Please go through these instructions carefully.

1. For ease of reference the Sub- Units are as follows:

C (SD) Coy – C Special Duties Company stationed at Lyster Barracks Hal- Far – 1st Regt.

Air Wing – Air Squadron based at MIA (Kirkop)

Maritime Squadron – Maritime Squadron at Haywharf Floriana.

EOD – Explosive Ordinance Disposal stationed at Manoel Island – 3rd Regt.

2. Guidance teachers are to take note of the following telephone numbers and confirm visits with the respective Unit Adjutants at least a week prior to the actual visit/ talk.

3.  IMPORTANT-Schools visiting Air Wing which is based at MIA are required to approve access to Airport through Gate 4. They are to make sure to inform Mr. Mario Bugeja / Mr. Ray Xuereb on tel nos 23696263 / 23696306 of the identification of the two teachers conducting the visit and the number of students attending. This too, has to be done a week prior to the visit.

Moreover, the coach driver’s identity and bus number should be forwarded not later than the day preceeding the visit.

Teachers and driver should have their ID card with them .

Due to security procedures, visits will have to be cancelled in this information is not given in due time.

4.  Students are to be Form IV or V and accompanied by 2 teachers.

5.  Visits will be of 60 – 90 minutes duration. Please confirm time with unit adjutant.

6.  For safety reasons not more than 24 students ( plus accompanying teachers) will be allowed access.
