Career Objective
My goal is to work in management. I have an interest in innovation; specifically in the fields of health care, biotechnology, and traditional manufacturing. These interests are a reflection of my experience. My education and experience have prepared me to: assess new products and business initiatives, interpret and communicate technical information in lay terms, and troubleshoot inefficiencies of large bureaucratic systems (industry, government, and academia). I am looking for a challenging work environment that provides mentorship and exposes me to the realities of today’s dynamic economy.

o The scholarship was awarded by the interdisciplinary program (my program of study) and is based on academic performance.

o International Political Economy 362.3 - An examination of the impact of political actors and institutions on the world economy. Examine issues such as the debt crisis, trade disputes, the emergence of NAFTA and the expansion of the European Union.

Research Assistant

§ Working on the NSERC funded Innovation Systems Research Network (ISRN) project I gathered and analyzed information from all the stakeholders in the regional innovation system for the Agricultural Biotechnology, Environmental, and Biomedical sectors. I gained a clear understanding of all the stakeholders and challenges in the local innovation system. My observations contributed to a paper commissioned by Agriculture and Agri-food Canada intended to guide future policy development. This position demonstrates my ability to network and communicate in several technologically advanced fields.
Research Analyst Prairie Centre for Business Intelligence – Dr. Wayne Craig, Saskatoon, SK. (Nov 2002 – March 2003)
§ I conducted the due diligence and created a plan to commercialize a product at the interface of health and information technology (IT). The plan was used to assess the local regions’ ability to support innovation in health / IT and contributed to IRAP (Industrial Research Assistance Program) budget decisions.
§ I worked with the Saskatoon Health Region - Business Development Office to identify and assess the market opportunity and local capability in developing several innovative health care products. My research played a central role in setting project priorities. I participated in the Saskatoon Regional Economic Development Authority’s (SREDA) health science cluster building initiative and the Canadian Technology Network (CTN) led initiative to reconstruct the local technology transfer and commercialization sector.
Warehouse Analyst C.N.H. (Flexicoil) - Mr. Ken Dagenais, Saskatoon, SK. (June 2002 – Nov 2002)
§ As result of a growing number of overdue accounts and stop shipment orders I was hired to investigate and facilitate the payment process. I was able to work with suppliers, purchasing and receiving to identify bottlenecks in the system and suggest solutions. I investigated and cleared payment on bills over 2 years old, valued at over $250,000. Stop shipment orders had the potential to shut the plant down and cost millions of dollars. I successfully worked under pressure and managed the concerns of more than 25 stakeholders at once. I also participated in major process reengineering that served to increase plant productivity.
