I.  Welcome

Mrs. Dillon welcomed the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Programmatic Vision Committee at

3:30 p.m., on April 17, 2012, at the Goose Creek Consolidated Independent School District (GCCISD) Administration Building Board room. She thanked everyone for taking the time from their work schedules to support the students and programs in GCCISD.

II.  CTE Video

Mrs. Dillon did a brief review of the meetings that we’ve had. She presented the committee with a short video titled “Did You Know.” This video can be seen on you tube. After the short video Tameka Mills informed everyone about Region 4’s Career and Technical Education Survey. Everyone will be receiving an email asking to please take time to do a short survey. The survey is being conducted by Region 4.

III.  Overview of Workforce Education at Lee College

David Jaroszewski, interim Dean of Applied Science at Lee College, gave an overview of the workforce education. You can log in to www.TexasGenuine.org and learn more about the CTE Programs at Lee College. The website also lets you explore different colleges in the state of Texas and show you what Career and Technical Education courses are being offered.

IV.  Group Activity by Career Cluster

Every cluster had an envelope with a set of questions they had to work on as a group activity. They also had a draft of the Career & Technical Education: The Next Ten Years that was put together by Mrs. Dillon with all the information that has been collected from the past meetings. Everyone was asked to review and make any changes or suggestions as needed.
