CARBON MONOXIDE AWARENESS WEEK STARTS

MONDAY 17TH NOVEMBER

NOVEMBER

2014

Hello and welcome to the latest edition of the village magazine. We are still looking for some new ideas for the magazine and were wondering if a member of the gardening community could possibly do a page to help people to get their gardens in good shape by suggesting what should be

planted when. I know it would help me and possibly other people.

Welcome to any newcomers to the village i hope you will enjoy living in our community. You will find interesting information inside and important phone numbers on the back.

Bonfire Night

Remember, remember the fifth of November,
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
We see no reason why
Gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot!
Throughout England, towns and villages....

Light huge bonfires; let off magnificent fireworks; burn an effigy (a homemade model of a man, like a scarecrow) andcelebrate the fact the Parliament and James I were not blown sky high by Guy Fawkes.

Parkin
Enjoy a warm slice of this on a cold night in front of a roaring bonfire with good friends or family.

  • 115g butter
  • 75ml milk

MESSAGE FROM CLLR SANDRA HARRISON, PORTFOLIO HOLDER FOR COMMUNITIES at EAST LINDSEY DISTRICT COUNCIL

I am delighted to have successfully campaigned for this NHS Listening Event to be held in East Lindsey, as the previous 3 events have been too far away for local residents to attend. Please take the opportunity to attend but also to encourage as many residents as possible to come and share their thoughts.

Sandra

Dear Colleague,

I am writing to invite you to attend the fourth listening event to be held in Lincolnshire.

The event is designed for all sectors of the health and care community to come together and listen to the experiences of patients first hand. Through this we can ensure that the services provided to patients, carers and their families across the county are safe and high quality.

The fourth “Listening Event” is being held on Thursday 6 November 2014 at East Lindsey District Council, Tedder Hall, Manby Park, Louth Lincolnshire, LN11 8UP 1pm to 4pm

We want as many patients, carers and family members to come along to

share their personal experiences of healthcare services they have received without organisational boundaries and regardless of where people live or access services.

The event will encourage open and honest feedback rather than specific

complaints or issues, although patients and the public will be supported to share these by appropriate signposting and having support organisations including Chaplaincy and PALS in attendance. There will

be representatives from each of the four Lincolnshire CCGs, United

Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust, Lincolnshire Partnership NHS

Foundation Trust, Lincolnshire Community Health Services and

Lincolnshire County Council.

If you are able to attend please telephone 01522 515364 or email the

public engagement box

mailto:

Thank you very much for your support

Yours sincerely

Planning Applications Received

S/169/01751/14 - Ms M McKenzie- Extension and alterations to existing bungalow to provide an attached single garage, bedroom with en suite and attached garden room at 47 Holmes Road - OBJECT

This is not in-keeping with the area and look of this estate. It is too close to neighbouring boundaries causing possible problems with maintenance to both properties and there is an intrusive window. The neighbours were not spoken prior to the application being submitted as suggested in the application form. Complaints have been received from neighbours regarding this extension. There is a gas tank sited by the turning area shown on the plans. The turning area uses up the drive space reducing the off road parking available, on road parking is not available due to the property being on a bend. The rear garden to no 47 will be inaccessible from the front of the property. Could set a precedent for other properties on the estate to do likewise.

S/169/01442/14 - Mr & Mrs Bradshaw - Erection of 1 detached house on the site of existing mobile home and sheds on site which are to be removed to include the provision of parking at Charnwood, West Fen Lane Erection of 1 detached house on the site of existing mobile home and sheds on site which are to be removed to include the provision of parking at Charnwood, West Fen Lane - OBJECT

The previous field shelter for horses was refused as was the use of a caravan for storage of animal feed. This is the caravan that is now a mobile home - again sited without permission. The current occupation is in direct contravention of previous planning refusal. There has never been a permanent building at this site. The current sewage system is inadequate, there are often 'smells' in the area - there appears to be no soakaway. The proposed property would be much higher than the existing caravan. This would set a precedent for other such properties in Lincolnshire should this application be granted permission. The house would not be on the site of the mobile home it would be on another part of the land reducing the area for parking.

Planning Decisions

There were no planning decisions received for this meeting.

Cemetery

The work to the trees in the cemetery and churchyard has now been carried out. This will be looked at again to check if other areas need any attention

Repairs

There were no highway issues reported for repair. All problems with street lights and pot holes are reported as the Clerk is told about them by local residents.

ANY POT HOLES OR STREET LIGHTS IN ALL DAY OR OUT AT NIGHT SHOULD BE REPORTED TO THE PARISH COUNCIL CLERK.

Play Area

A new sign has been ordered for the play area, this is to remind users of the area that there is to be no cycling, skateboarding, ball games or dogs in the play area – these are conditions set by Lincolnshire County Council when leasing the land to be used for a children’s play area. The Parish Council also ask that the litter bins be used.

War Memorial

A meeting was held with the stone mason who explained that the War Memorial had been cleaned, but not good enough. The additional work had not been placed on his order sheet. The work will be done again with the additional items and will be completed before the end of October.

Poultry Farm ‘smells’

This matter was reported to ELDC who have sent the information to the Environment Agency regarding one farm as this is a ‘licenced’ farm. For the second farm to be checked residents must contact ELDC themselves to register the complaint. Following the receipt of the complaint ELDC will issue a diary to be filled in by the complainants, will give evidence of the problems to be dealt with. Telephone 01507 601111 and ask for Environmental Health.
