Car Line Procedures for Morning drop-off & Afternoon Pick Up

Afternoon riders will be given 1 car tag with child’s name. Display this tag on your rear view mirror until your child is in your vehicle. This will help all the adults trying to load your student. Please make sure whoever is picking up your student has one of these Car Tags. If they do not they will be asked to go in the office to sign your child out. Additional tags will be available in the front office for $2.00. (tags can only be given to people that are approved by a student’s parent/guardian)
Please help us keep your child safe by following all the procedures that we have in place.
*Car riders must be dropped off and picked up only in designated areas of the school. You may not drop-off in the bus lot or in the middle of the parking lot and have your child walk unattended to the front door.
*Please give your full attention while on school property. While your car is moving in a school zone, it is important not to be using or talking on your cell phone.
*Do not get out of your car in the car line Zone. Your child should be able to unbuckle their own seat belt and have their belongings in hand before the door is opened.
*The drop off and loading zone is on the right-hand side of your car. Place car seats for siblings accordingly. Do not have your children exit/enter the car on the left/driver’s side.
*If your child needs more time at drop-off, park your car in a designated spot and walk them into the front of the building. The drop-off line is for quick and efficient exiting of the vehicle. Your child may not be ready for a quick drop-off, and that is OK.
*There are 9 stations for loading the children. Pull forward with the car in front of you even if your child is at a different number. They will come to you.
*If your child is not waiting for you pull forward to the #1 spot where an adult with a walkie talkie will call for your child again. You will be asked to pull forward out of line to park by the curb on your left. Your child will be escorted to your car.
* Do not pass any cars while in car line. It is not safe! Car line is a single moving line. Be patient please.
*Please leave pets at home.
*PM car line starts at 2:45. Please be at the school ready to pick up your child at this time.
* Patience is required in a school car line. We encourage all parents to use the WSFCS Buses.
