Route 1 City Day Trip

Catch the shuttle bus across the road at the holiday inn £3.50 per person, that will take you at any time of day to Bristol Airport

At the airport catch the 121 service to Bristol (timetable in information room) or the Bristol Flyer shuttle bus (Concessions free) that goes every 10 mins to the city centre 02:30hrs – 00:00hrs daily.

This will take you to the centre and will stop at the train station if you decided to take a day trip to Bath it is a very good option.

Once in the city buy an all day adult bus ticket @ £4.00 (2012) children under 5 yrs free.

Boat trips around the harbour are located at the HARBOUR SIDE COMPLEX in the city centre

Route 2 Countryside Cycle or Walk half day

Walk, use own bicycles or hire one from the Camping Park (Please enquire at time of booking in)

Leave park through walled garden, cross the lawn in front of the house and turn right onto lane out of gateway over the humpback bridge.

Follow the lane for 1 mile turn left at T junction follow lane 1 more mile turn right at next T junction

Nature reserve stop

Option 1 – stop at the 3rd gate on the right before lake, this is Brook Lodge Farm’s land, with prior arrangement we will leave the gate unlocked for you to visit this unique lakeside nature reserve located in the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (ANOB) maybe it could be a picnic stop.

Visitor Centre Stop

Option 2 - Carry on past field cross the dam and the visitor centre is on the right hand side go through large iron gates to centre at bottom of hill Every Sunday afternoon from May to August bank holiday, Blagdon Lake Visitor centre is open , free entry and great for all the family . ask to see guide at reception

Lake Walk

Lakeside stop

Option 3 – follow the same directions but before the dam look to the LEFT there is a small gate way to a path that borders the lake. The path crosses a footbridge across a stream then you have the option to follow a footpath on the left through fields you join the lane turn left and then turn right at T junction to go back to camping park the way you came or follow the path straight ahead and you will come out of a wooded area to a large grass area great for a picnic. After stop you have to turn around and return along same path as the other areas of lake are zoned for conservation reasons.
