Captivating Conversations Game

Materials Needed:

·  Game Board

·  Cue Sheet

·  Pieces (coins, buttons, etc.)

·  Dice

Instructions:

·  Students roll the die to see who will go first. The student with the highest number goes first.

·  All students place their pieces on the “Start” square.

·  Students roll the die and move their pieces the corresponding number of spaces.

·  If the student lands on a blue space, he or she reads the text from the square to the student on his or her right. That student then responds with an appropriate question or comment. The turn is then over.

o  The first few times that they play, students may use the cue sheet for suggested responses or create their own. The teacher may offer constructive feedback on student responses.

·  If the student lands on a green space, he or she follows the instructions on the square.

·  If the student lands on a white space, he or she stays there and the turn is over.

·  The first player to reach the “Finish” square is the winner.
