Studying for the Capstone Examinations

Course Syllabi

Study for the Capstone Examinations should begin as soon as class starts if not before. The three examinations cover specific courses in the MBA program.

There are a number of steps you can take to prepare for the examinations, such as reviewing course materials from the previous courses such as the syllabus.

By reviewing the syllabus, you can see what chapters you read during the course and what the course objectives were. This allows you to target studying to those relevant textbook chapters.

Textbooks

Many of the textbooks include glossaries of key terms and chapter summaries to provide the opportunity for a quick review.

It is also helpful to look for any related content for your textbook on the publisher’s student website.

Study Guides

This course contains links to the Study Guides for the courses being covered in the three capstone examinations. These Study Guides contain key terms and concepts that relate to the Knowledge Checks and final examinations from those courses. As you prepare for these capstone examinations, review the Study Guides and use these to direct your study of the textbooks.

Knowledge Checks

When you took the courses prior to STR/581, each of those courses contained a final examination. To prepare for those final examinations, you completed a series of weekly Knowledge Checks.Samplings from the relevant Knowledge Checks are available in the materials for this course.

Knowledge Checks are designed to help you to practice, to become familiar with the types of questions to be given, and to see the relationship between the concepts you have learned and the way this is presented in the examinations.
