Legislative Vice-President Partika called the meeting to order at 7:03PM in the Schneider Multipurpose Room.

Senator Sharratt of the First General Assembly led the Senate in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance
- Devotion
Senator Boyd, member of the First General Assembly, presented the devotion.
- Public Comment
A faculty member of the Psychology Department at Capital University spoke briefly about the future Accreditation of Capital University. A lunch and meeting with the Accreditation Committee will take place on Tuesday, October 30, 2012. Lunch will be from 12:00pm-12:45pm and the meeting will take place from 2:00pm-2:45pm.
Capital student Madison Mikhail discussed information with Senate regarding the launching of the non-profit organization, ONELIFE, in which she is CEO. The ONELIFE Launch is scheduled to take place during the evening of October 10, 2012.
- Approval of Minutes
Minutes from the September 18, 2012 meeting were approved.
- Committee Reports
Academic Affairs: Senator Sharrat discussed exploring ideas regarding May or January terms at Capital. Additionally, the committee is working on creating minors for those not offered currently, study abroad program changes and foreign language credit.
Governance: Senator Smith, P met with August Airsman about the phone app development. The Governance committee also met with the Public Safety Department about lights on Sheridan Avenue. A petition was recommended to increase safety and security throughout campus.
Student Life: Senator Boyd said the committee has finished the white board resolution.
Student Activities: Senator Morris discussed the planned improvements for campus and looked through Student Organization constitutions.
Other: Vice-President Stith said funding committee allocations are complete for the 2012-2013 academic year.
Cabinet: President Wilson welcomed the newly elected and appointed senators. She also discussed positions that remain vacant.

- Senate Announcements
-Senator Smith, P. announced the Academic Affairs Committee developed an idea regarding the “Chillicothe Experience” for students in the Conservatory of Music. Points of Clarification were given by Senator McClain, Senator Ruth and Legislative Vice-President Partika regarding the idea presented by Senator Smith, P.
-Senator Smith, E. discussed Alpha Sigma Phi’s annual Livestrong Week.
-Senator McClain announced the Conservatory Choir Concert that will take place on October 5, 2012 at 8:00pm.
-Senator Ruth announced the Chapel Choir will be singing at nearby church on Sunday.

Announced the upcoming Student Government Town Hall meeting, which will take place on October 23, 2012 around 5:00pm.

Encouraged senators to continue asking questions regarding legislation

XIII. Legislative Vice-President Remarks – Scott Partika
Announced that the Student Government Retreat is scheduled for October 12, 2012. Senators should report to Schneider Multipurpose Room around 2:30pm. Questions and answers will start at 3:00pm.
Homecoming is taking place at Capital on October 6, 2012.
- President Remarks – Bobbi Wilson
She met with President Bowman on Friday, September 28, 2012. They discussed working with the City of Bexley more, allocations, concert tasks, library renovations and the safety of campus.
A meeting is scheduled with Susan Tate for their next meeting.
- Advisor Remarks – Prof. Daniel Skinner and Melvin Adams
Dr. Skinner announced that he would not be in attendance at the next senate meeting.
Homecoming is taking place on October 6, 2012 with a dance occurring in the evening on Capital’s campus.
