Current Event: 1 Due Per Marking Period

CURRENT EVENT: 1 DUE PER MARKING PERIOD

40 POINTS

Find a current event (no earlier than Jan. 2013) that deals with a Science Topic (health, nutrition, ecology, space, weather, species of organisms, new technology, etc.) This can be from a print or digital source.

-List the source (where you found this, give the name of the author who wrote about this, and the title of the article, as well as the date it was written). (5 points)

-Give a 1 paragraph summary on what the article is about in your own words (10 points)

-Quote 3 or 4 important ideas from the article. (10 points)

-Give your opinion on the article. What do you think about it. Is this a good thing or a bad thing and why. How will this affect you, me, and others? (10 points)

-Place an illustration (pictorial representation/summary of the article, such as a drawing or clipart) on the back of the paper (5 points)

-This assignment can be handwritten or typed. As an alternative to the paper assignment, a power-point (or similar) presentation incorporating all of the above mentioned elements may be done. It can be turned in to the homework bin, e-mailed to me, shared on google drive, or shared on the MPM Teacher/Student drive.

It is due the Friday before the end of the Marking Period.
