Job Description

Responsible to: Director of Fundraising

Location: 212 Business Design Centre, 52 Upper Street, London N1 0QH

Hours: 35 hours – 9-5pm

Holiday: 23 days per annum (plus bank holidays)

Contract: 2 year contract

Responsible for: The Capital Trust Fundraiser will be responsible for making applications to trusts and foundations in support of Revitalise Capital Campaign. This will include applications for lead gifts.

Key Relationships: CEO, Director of Finance, Director of Operations, Director of Nursing

Travel: There may be limited travel in the UK to meet with funders

Context

Revitalise is embarking upon a major capital campaign. This is an exciting new project which opens up opportunities for funding from trusts which support heritage and conservation in addition to trusts interested in funding health-related capital expenditure.

Overall Objectives:

·  Raise lead (£250K-£1m), plus medium and lower level trust & foundation gifts, both restricted and unrestricted.

·  Raise funds from charitable trusts, foundations, lottery, national and local Government and other grant-making bodies in line with agreed targets and deadlines

·  Research other potential funding opportunities and grant-giving bodies and assist with applications as required

Key tasks:

·  Identify and conduct comprehensive fundraising research amongst Charitable Trusts, Lottery, Corporate Foundations and Statutory grant-makers in the UK, for the purposes of capital grants for Revitalise new fourth Centre - Heritage England and Heritage Lottery will be amongst the key funders to approach.

·  Produce detailed and comprehensive and persuasive funding applications drawing upon resources available, including the Revitalise Fourth Centre Business Plan and Capital Case for Support

·  Working with colleagues in other teams where necessary to draw additional project information to build compelling trust applications.

·  Implementing a planned schedule of approaches to potential funders

·  Manage the relationships with key funders throughout the bidding process

·  Steward the relationships with key funders as the project progresses

·  Ensure impact reports are produced for funders to the Capital Campaign.

·  Key relationships will be with all SMT members and with members of the Capital Campaign Board.

·  Work with the Finance Department and operational colleagues to ensure all grants are correctly used and conditions met.

·  Keep comprehensive records of all activities

·  Ensure all duties are carried out in accordance with Revitalise policies and guidelines

·  To undertake any duties that the Director of Fundraising may reasonably require.

Person Specification

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level or equivalent

Experience

·  Minimum of three years trust experience

·  Essential experience is required in successfully securing large level grants of six figures from grant giving bodies

·  Desirable experience in successfully securing large gifts from Heritage Lottery and Big Lottery

·  Substantial and demonstrable in-depth knowledge and experience and ability in trust fundraising from charitable trusts, statutory funders and other bodies

·  A successful track record in meeting challenging income targets, particularly in the capital appeal arena.

·  Proven experience of identifying and cultivating key influencers

·  Proven experience of relationship management

·  Able to demonstrate relationships have been developed to deliver maximum benefit

·  Good knowledge and significant experience of databases.

Knowledge and Skills

·  Ability to write persuasive complex funding applications

·  Ability to interpret, analyse and adapt highly complex information demonstrating how

proposals meet funders’ requirements (includes numeracy)

·  Excellent written and oral communication skills.

·  Ability to manage multiple relationships of high level

·  Ability to prioritise

·  Awareness and understanding of trends, legislation and Institute of Fundraising best

practice guidance in relation to grant fundraising.

·  Ability to manage a budget, forecasting and analysis with regular reporting against targets.

·  Excellent interpersonal skills that facilitate strong relationships with a wide range of people inside and outside the charity including at the most senior level.

·  Excellent attention to detail

·  Knowledge of disability and care an advantage but not essential

General

·  Proficient in relevant IT packages including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and fundraising databases.

·  To ensure that all funders are thanked promptly and appropriately.

·  Work with current Trust Fundraisers who are raising funds for on-going revenue needs.
