a) Does the thesis give satisfactory evidence that the student has gained sufficient experience of methods of research suitable for the degree of MPhil?

Comments:
The candidate had a good understanding of the methodolgy in carrying out research. The literature survey, experimental work and discussions on his results/data were satisfactory for the degree of MPhil
b) Is there evidence that the candidate has carried out the experimental and/or theoretical work in a satisfactory manner?

Comments:
The candiadate presented his experimental work and his deductions from measuring the fabricated devices. He also compared his data to simulation and theoretical work, again these were in line with that to be expected for the award of the degree of MPhil.
c) Is there a satisfactory discussion of the purpose of the investigation, its significance, and of any relevant previous work?

Comments:
The siginificance of his work was clearly stated and discussed. This is a relevant piece of research in the current miniatuarisation of devices.
d) Is the thesis clearly written and presented in a satisfactory form, with the necessary diagrams, formulae, bibliography, etc?

Comments:
The thesis was presented in a satisfactory manner.
e) Report on the thesis describing the nature, objects and degrees of success of the work, and any further comments.
The thesis would form the foundation for the candidate to pursue further research; for exampple towards a Ph.D.
