ITINERARY

As a matter of pride and support for your fellow students, please understand that you are expected to attend the performances of all Centennial High School ensembles unless otherwise directed.

Friday, April 24

7:45 am Arrive at Centennial and load buses

8:15 am Depart for Banff, Alberta (with bag breakfast & lunch, vocal jazz/jazz bands wearing/carrying uniforms)

9:45 am Arrive in Banff, unload luggage at hotel (Banff Ptarmigan Inn, 337 Banff Avenue, 403-762-2207)

10:00 am Depart for Banff Centre (107 Tunnel Mountain Drive, 403-762-6100) (all with bag lunch, vocal jazz and jazz bands with uniforms/instruments)

11:30 am Vocal Jazz warm-up

12:00 – 12:30 am Vocal Jazz Performance, Eric Harvie Theatre, Banff Centre

12:30 – 2:00 pm Supervised lunch at Banff Centre (bag lunch)

2:00 – 3:00 pm Vocal Jazz Clinic, Room 221, Banff Centre

3:00 – 3:30 pm Break for snack or washroom

3:30 – 4:00 pm Junior Jazz Band warm-up

4:00 – 4:30 pm Junior Jazz Band Performance, Eric Harvie Theatre, Banff Centre

5:00 – 5:30 pm Senior Jazz Band warm-up

5:30 – 6:00 pm Senior Jazz Band Performance, Eric Harvie Theatre, Banff Centre

6:00 pm Walk back to hotel for dinner

6:45 pm Supervised dinner at the International Hotel (next door to Ptarmigan Inn)

8:00 pm Walk to evening activity at Banff Centre

8:30 – 10:00 pm Festival Showcase Concert – Nuf Sed in Room 122/4, Laszlo Funtek Teaching Wing, Banff Centre

10:30 pm Return to hotel

11:00 pm Must be in assigned rooms

11:30 pm Lights out!

Saturday, April 25

6:30 am Wake up

7:30 – 8:30 am Supervised breakfast at hotel

9:15 am Walk to Banff Centre

10:00 – 11:00 am Junior Jazz Band Clinic, Room 223, Banff Centre

11:00 – 11:30 am Break for snack or washroom

12:00 – 1:00 pm Senior Jazz Band Clinic, Room 123, Banff Centre

1:00 – 2:00 pm Supervised lunch at Banff Centre (provided)

2:30 pm Tour Band warm-up

3:00 – 3:30 pm Tour Band Performance, Margaret Greenham Theatre, Banff Centre

3:30 pm Walk to downtown Banff

4:00 – 6:00 pm Supervised shopping, sightseeing in downtown Banff (4:00 – 4:45 for Choir)

5:00 pm Supervised dinner for choir at the International Hotel (next door to Ptarmigan Inn)

6:15 pm Choir walks back to Banff Centre

6:45 pm Supervised dinner for band at the International Hotel (next door to Ptarmigan Inn)

7:00 pm Festival Showcase Concert (Choir) – Kokopelli in the Rolston Recital Hall, Banff Centre

8:00 pm Band walks back to Banff Centre

9:00 – 10:00 pm Festival Showcase Concert (All Music Students) – Jens Lindemann Quartet in the Eric Harvey Theatre, Banff Centre

10:30 pm Return to hotel

11:00 pm Must be in assigned rooms

11:30 pm Lights out!

Sunday, April 26

6:30 am Wake up (pack as much as possible)

7:30 – 8:30 am Supervised breakfast at hotel

8:30 am Walk to Banff Centre

9:00 – 10:00 am Tour Band Clinic, Room 224, Banff Centre

10:00 – 10:30 am Break for snack or washroom

10:30 – 11:30 am Choir warm-up

11:30 am – 12:00 pm Tour Choir Performance, Rolston Recital Hall, Banff Centre

12:00 pm Walk to hotel and pack up (gear put in storage)

1:00 – 3:30 pm Supervised lunch, shopping, sightseeing in downtown Banff

3:30 pm Tour Choir students walk to Banff Centre; Banff

4:00 – 5:00 pm Tour Choir Clinic, Rollston Recital Hall, Banff Centre

4:15 Non choir students return to hotel

4:30 pm All CHS music students except for Tour Choir load buses at hotel

4:45 pm Depart for Banff Centre to pick up Tour Choir and then depart for Centennial High

6:45 pm (approx.) Arrive at Centennial and unload buses; all students are expected to help unload equipment before departing for home

*All hotel meals will be at the Banff Ptarmigan Inn

** All music related activities will take place at the Banff Centre

PLEASE NOTE:

The following is included in the $300.00 activity fee:

Friday – Dinner (pasta bar with garlic toast)

Saturday – Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner (hamburger buffet)

Sunday – Breakfast

All of the above meals will be arranged by the service provider

Transportation – National Motor Coach

Accommodation – Banff Ptarmigan Inn, 337 Banff Avenue, 403-762-2207

Festival Registration Fees

Lunch for Friday and Sunday, as well as snacks are not provided

Students are responsible for:
