LEARNING OBJECTIVES (for Intro Course):

On Completion of Workshop, participants will:

  • Understand the theory and ethical practice of Hypnosis in a professional healthcare practice.
  • Demonstrate the use of three hypnotic induction methods (from learner’s manual).
  • Understand the clinical conditions in which hypnotic techniques may be applied.

OVERVIEW (for Intro Course):

This course is designed to meet the standards of the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis and the Canadian Federation of Clinical Hypnosis. It is presented for those who may wish to use hypnosis in their practice. Registrants are usually MD’s, Dentists, Social Workers practicing therapy, Psychologists, Nurses, Master’s Level Counsellors, or students in a program leading to one of these fields.

Experiential LearningWorkshop: mini-Lectures, case studies, discussion, and small group practice. Presenters will explore topic in depth.

MIND / BODY. Follow family physicians Dr. Ian SimpsonMD, F.C.F.P.(C) (Retired)and Dr. Kent CadeganBSc, MD, CCFP, with over 75 yrs combined experience,through an experiential workshop on psychosomatic illness. Learn about and experience your stress response, make your mind-body connection and develop its language along with your emotional intelligence. Using hypnotic phenomena and techniques, wellness behaviours replace illness behaviours previously not consciously recognized. For example -- learn hypnosis techniques to treat migraines, menopausesymptoms,chronic pain, fibromyalgia, and other conditions. Once learned, always shared with patients -- it's allgood.
