“Can You Be the Drummer?”

By: Autumn Klinger

“I’ll bite your face off! sang Alice Cooper. I admired his spiky top hat ,black jacket, and his jet black eye make up that surrounded his eyes.

I cried from the audience "I love you Alice!". He looked at me and smiled .When the concert ended, every one left but me.

Alice called from the stage "come here." . I was surprised .What did he want from me?

Alice helped me up onto the stage.

He asked "Autumn, your mom sighed you up for drum lessons, am I right?"

"Yes." I replied shyly . "But she couldn't find a teacher." I admitted weakly

"Yes, she actually did " answered Alice.

"What do you mean ?" I asked.

I stared at him waiting for a response.

He replied "She asked me."

"So you're going to teach me!" I exclaimed.

"Yes "he replied.

After three months of teaching, Alice and I met up again .He didn't look too happy.

I questioned him "What's wrong?".

Alice replied "The drummer of my band is sick."

I was shocked. The drummer, sick.

"That's terrible!" I cried. He just looked at me and sighed. For a long while, there was silence . We just stared at each other in the silence .I looked into Alice's eyes and swore I saw a spark of sadness. I was about to say something , but Alice cut me off.

He asked" Can you be the drummer?"

I started the band off with four taps of the drumsticks. Alice began to sing. I felt so proud to be up on stage with Alice Cooper. I pounded at those drums like I meant it and I sounded awesome. It was one powerful moment . It was the time of my life and I will never forget it.
