1.Introduction
Need to provide a problem statement and the objective(s) of your project. Clearly explainwhat you are trying to achieve and why this is a relevant topic.
2.Section TITLE (Main body of report)
2.1Subsection Title
Include as many sections as you need but the structure will depend upon your individual topic. If needed, sample calculations could go into the appendix but they don’t need to be described in great detail in the main text. Just present some of the main equations.
Design projects should include the basis of the design (current conditions, setting, available field data, etc), the details of the design (aiming for sufficient information that another engineer or qualified contractor could construct the system with minimal additional information). Could also include other information such as operations and maintenance requirements, health and safety consideration, required regulatory permits, cost etc.
Analysis projects should include the basis of youranalysis (current conditions, setting, available field data, etc), sufficient information that the reader understands your basic approach to the problem, results, an assessment of the uncertainty of the results, and a discussion of the relevance of the results (i.e., how this will effect future decision-making, costs, system effectiveness etc.)
Literature reviews require a breakdown of the topic into relevant subtopics (which will depend upon the specific topic).Include (where possible) critical commentary on the significance/reliability of the available literature, and provide a discussion integrating all the subtopics to put the significance of the literature review into context (in some respects, this provides a summary of what you learned that you didn’t get just from reading a specific source, such as “very little is known about impact of seasonality on LFG production although it is clear that….”).
Note: Insert figures and tables into your report on the page or on the following page where they are first cited in the text.
