Statement of Purpose
Options High School is committed to the goal of providing quality education for every student in our school. The school believes that establishing and maintaining open lines of communication will expand learning opportunities and create the best learning environment for every student. The appropriate assistance will be offered to meet student needs.
The goal of our school-home partnership is to assist all students to become successful.
Parent and Family Involvement in Developing Policy
A Parental Involvement Policy Development meeting will be planned to discuss and provide opportunities for input on the design and implementation on of Options High School Parental Involvement Policy.
Annual Meeting for Title I Parent and Family
Options High School will meet annually to review Title I guidelines and services offered through the school. All stakeholders will be given a copy of the school’s current Parental Involvement Policy and will be offered the opportunity to become involved in revising and updating the policy.
Parent and Family-Student-Teacher Compact
In accordance with Title I regulations, Options High School will provide an updated outline of the Parent-Student-Teacher Compact to the parents/caregivers. The compact will explain the shared responsibility for promoting student achievement.
Parent and Family Involvement Opportunities
Options High School will support and develop Parental Involvement for an optimum learning environment.
- Communities In School (CIS) can provide referrals to outside agencies and provide parenting sessions, CIS will work with students in the areas of academics, attendance and behavior
- Presentations from community resources.
- School Counselors provide individual and family counseling and appropriate referrals to outside community agencies
- Socorro ISD Police services provide various awareness programs.
Staff and Parent and Family Communication
Options High School staff members are trained to communicate effectively with parents, students and other members of the school community. Parents will be notified about events, school sponsored activities and conference dates and times.
Evaluation
The evaluation and effectiveness of the Parental Involvement Program will be conducted annually.
