INSTRUCTIONALCAMPUS AIDE & APPRENTICE STRUCTURES
INSTRUCTIONAL CAMPUS AIDES:
Temporary, part-time and hourly assignments (not positions) that are filled on an as-needed basisto assist classroom instructors and other faculty in the performance of their duties and in the supervision of students or to provide assistance to students with training in computer labs if under the direction of an instructor. Duties shall not include assignment of grades to students. Not classified positions, therefore pay rates are not on the salary schedule. Cannot work more than 195 days per year, more than 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. Assignment must be approved by Board prior to beginning work. These are typically individuals who are no longer students or students in between semesters.
Instructional Campus Aide I - $11/hour flat rate
(equivalent to student workers)
- Direct/line-of-sight supervision at all times
- Unskilled, entry level work
- Non-specialized clerical tasks such as typing, answering phones, copying, filing
- Ability to understand and communicate appropriate instructions
- Answer general program-related questions
Instructional Campus Aide II - $13/hour flat rate
- Close supervision
- Variety of clerical or data-entry skills and abilities
- Ability to comprehend and/or interpret program-specific guidelines or procedures
Instructional Campus Aide III - $17/hour flat rate
- General supervision
- Advanced skills and abilities directly related to program, regulations and/or college procedures
- Some discretion in decision making, within prescribed criteria
INSTRUCTIONAL APPRENTICE:
Temporary, part-time and hourly assignments (not positions) that are required to support programs and to assist classroom instructors and other faculty in the performance of their duties and in the supervision of students. Duties shall not include assignment of grades to students. Focus of apprentice work is training that prepares them for employment or certification in the discipline outside the college. Some roles are unique to educational institutions. They assist in the educational process. Not classified positions, therefore pay rates are not on the salary schedule, but are developed based on market data so that interns are not priced out of the market when they seek private employment. Cannot work more than 195 days per year, more than 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. Assignment must be approved by Board prior to beginning work.
Instructional Apprentice I - $11/hr flat rate
- Minimal education/experience required
Instructional Apprentice II- $11/hr flat rate
- Some technical knowledge/skills (closely related experience) preferred
Instructional Apprentice III - $13/hr flat rate
- Some advanced education or training required
- More technical knowledge (directly related experience) preferred
