Table this for the moment because we need to see if this is a good way to spend our money. We will look at the budget.
CAC Election Printing Stipend
Each CAC Chair Candidate given $250 for printing, which would be paid by CAC. It is for students who are running for CAC Chair. In total, candidates can spend $500, which is including the printing stipend. Candidates will have to use OU Printing Services. Maximum would be $1,000. This is something that would be voted on every year, depending on how many candidates run. Candidates need to have their printing approved by SGA.
CAC Chair Elections
- We ask that GC doesn’t publicly endorse any candidate.
- We do this because we will be working with one of these candidates later on, especially Fall Chairs.
- Do not join a campaign team
The OU Daily
- Kelsey is their main contact. She will send them a press release, contact information, and schedule before everyone’s event.
- Send Kelsey the name of a Vice Chair that can answer questions from the Daily during your event.
- Communication is key when working with the OU Daily.
- Have a Vice Chair that is in charge of communication with the OU Daily.
- Kolbi – What do we need to tell them regarding budget?
- Allocated funds and funds raised through sponsorship
- Quy recommends that we meet with the staff of the OU Daily face-to-face. You can request the audio file, so they cannot misquote you. Or, you can ask them to re-read the quotes that you had stated in the interview. Call the OU Daily and ask for a “Fact Check”, so you can make sure that all their quotes are correct.
- Kelsey will make a general template that can be followed.

- Jordan – Potluck Dinner
TMQuy and A
- The Career Fair is next Wednesday, and if you are looking for a job, please come talk to advisors in Student Life if you are nervous and need help.
- Elvie – Lindy is leading this, so if you can volunteer, contact him.
- PR – We are going to have more open communication. Nate will be contacting you and please “Cc” Kelsey Gosdin, Elvie Ellis, and your advisor. When discussing themes with Nate, have concrete themes and know what you want to do. If the design is not liked by your Vice Chairs, it is your fault because they needed to be included in the decision.
- Copyright –We have to respect other people’s creative ideas.
- Timeline – Follow the timeline that you are given from Kelsey, Elvie, and Nate. It works and helps to get all of your t-shirts in before the event starts.
- Elvie – “Never let the backstage come onstage”
- This is something that we see in designing the t-shirts, the office, and General Council happenings. These things came come onstage super quickly, so we need to keep them backstage. Keep what you do in your Exec meetings in the backstage.
