CAMP GERONIMO PRE-CAMP SERVICE PROJECTS
This list is the pre-camp service projects for the troops completing projects here at Geronimo prior to their scheduled summer experience. With the warm weather and lack of rainfall this winter season the, fire safety at the facility is our highest priority. The areas around the facility has had substantial growth with the winter weather conditions. If you are completing a Fire Wise project please bring weed eaters and the required supplies for it and please remember that the operator must be eighteen years of age to operate.
18-1. Fire Wise around the Spade Ranch House. This will require adults to use powered weed cutters and the youth will be using hand tools to clear the area around the structure and trim ladder fuels. See appendix A for guidance.
18-2. Fire Wise around the Rough Rider Cabin. This will require adults to use powered weed cutters and the youth will be using hand tools to clear the area around the structure and trim ladder fuels. See appendix A for guidance.
18-3 Fire Wise around the Masak Center. This will require adults to use powered weed cutters and the youth will be using hand tools to clear the area around the structure and trim ladder fuels. See appendix A for guidance.
18-4 Fire Wise around Family Cabins one through seven. This will require adults to use powered weed cutters and the youth will be using hand tools to clear the area around the structure and trim ladder fuels. See appendix A for guidance.
18-5 Campsite 16 through 19, site set up. This will require the troop to bring out the tent bases from the Adirondack and erect the canvass tents on the platforms.
18-6 Clean the pool program area and set up the shade canopies on the pool deck. This will require the pool debris removed and brushed. The building swept and cleaned for use.
18-7 Erosion work on front slope of the pool house program area. This will require the troop to use hand tools to clear, slope and shovel stone in the area. The ranger has the exact design plan and will coordinate with the group.
18-8 Campsite 20 through 23, site set up. This will require the troop to bring out the tent bases from the Adirondack and erect the canvass tents on the platforms.
18-9 Campsite 24 through 26, site set up. This will require the troop to bring out the tent bases from the Adirondack and erect the canvass tents on the platforms.
18-10 Campsite 27 through 29, site set up. This will require the troop to bring out the tent bases form the Adirondack and erect the canvass tents on the platforms.
18-11 Fire wise around the Duplex cabin. This will require adults to use powered weed cutters and the youth will be using hand tools to clear the area around the structure and trim ladder fuels. See appendix A for guidance.
18-12 Fire wise around the staff hill area. This will require adults to use powered weed cutters and the youth will be using hand tools to clear the area around the structure and trim ladder fuels. See appendix A for guidance.
18-13 Repair and setup the volleyball court near staff housing. This will require heavy work as the weeds and grass have taken over the area. The court will have to be re-bordered and raked and the grass removed around the court area.
18-14 Fire wise around the West Webber Lodge. This will require adults to use powered weed cutters and the youth will be using hand tools to clear the area around the structure and trim ladder fuels. See appendix A for guidance.
18-15 Campsite 1 and 3, site set up. This will require the troop to bring out the tent bases from the Adirondack and erect the canvass tents on the platforms.
18-16 Campsite 5 through 7, site set up. This will require the troop to bring out the tent bases from the Adirondack and erect the canvass tents on the platforms.
18-17 Fire wise around the headquarters building. This will require adults to use powered weed cutters and the youth will be using hand tools to clear the area around the structure and trim ladder fuels. See appendix A for guidance.
18-18 Fire wise around the old nature lodge building. This will require adults to use powered weed cutters and the youth will be using hand tools to clear the area around the structure and trim ladder fuels. See appendix A for guidance.
18-19 Remove debris from drainage area between the maintenance area and the horse coral. Over some time, construction materials have been blown down into the drainage from the maintenance area. These need to be removed and stacked at the maintenance area for repurposing or disposal.
18-20 Campsite 8 through 11, site set up. This will require the troop to bring out the tent bases from the Adirondack and erect the canvass tents on the platforms.
18-21 Camp site 12 through 15, site set up. This will require the troop to bring out the tent bases from the Adirondack and erect the canvass tents on the platforms.

18-23 Fire wise around the health lodge building and install gravel on the western side of the building. This will require adults to use powered weed cutters and the youth will be using hand tools to clear the area around the structure and trim ladder fuels. See appendix A for guidance.
