~ First Year Zoo Crew applicants:
Essay: one-page, double spaced, typed essay(no bigger than 12-point font) describing why you think zoos are important and how they are used as tools for conservation education.
References: Please attach 2 letters of recommendationfrom current teachers, school administrators, pastors, or community leaders on school/company letterhead.
Letters from parents or relatives will not be accepted.
Photograph: Please attach a current pictureof yourself (sized 3x5 or 4x6). The application is not considered complete without the photograph.
~ Returning Zoo Crew applicants:
Please submit onlya new application form and current photograph.
Volunteer Agreement for ALL accepted Zoo Crew members:
- Should you be chosen to participate in the Zoo Crew program, it is imperative that you be at the Zoo when you are scheduled. This requires parents/guardians to be in full support of you and the program. This includes providing necessary transportation, signing of necessary forms, etc.
- There will be a $45 fee for your t-shirtsand supplies ($30 for returning Zoo Crew).
- Applications will be accepted up to April 6, 2018at 5:00pm.
- MANDATORYparent/guardian meeting Tuesday, May 15, 2018at Cameron Park Zoo. Meeting begins at 6:00 p.m.on Gibbon Deck.
- Zoo Crew training is MANDATORY. Zoo Crew is required to attend all of the training, no exceptions. The dates for Zoo Crew training are Friday, May 18, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. until Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. (This is an overnight at the Zoo.)
- Parent/Guardian signature is required to complete the application.
