Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Women's Center! Volunteers keep the Women's Center going and growing. The center is an anti-racism community gathering women who are willing to interrupt and challenge oppression of any form and are dedicated to empower women. Please check the areas below you are interested in helping with
Computer tutoring: Share your computer savvy with women in one-on-one tutoring sessions, such as internet/email using and basic introduction to word processing, etc.
Computer maintenance: Help to keep the Women’s Center computers in good working condition by performing routine check-ups, software update, and other needed tasks.
Helpline/drop-in service: Talk with callers and visitors. Provide emotional support, help women find resources and feel empowered, build community.
Facilitate groups/workshops: The community needs your leadership and organizing abilities to bring women together to share and discuss ideas, to support and learn from each other, and to take actions and make changes.
Fundraising: Help with many tasks, from writing thank you letters, record-keeping, researching donors and foundations, exploring raising funds through social media, event planning, etc.
Childcare: Make the center services more accessible to women with children and more child-friendly. We have a childcare room and lots of fun things to do!
Outreach: To spread words and increase visibility/attendance of all the Women’s Center activities through a variety of ways, such as tweeting, blogging, contacting media, or posting flyers.
Tabling: Staff a Women's Center table at a public event like International Women's Day, Boston Pride, Cambridge River Festival, etc.
Cleaning: It’s a big house. A clean space makes it safer and more welcoming!
Other: Such as gardening, home improvement projects, or assisting women with special needs, doing errands… Or something you would like to do and it’s not listed here! Please describe:
