Caman Get a Grip Course Overview

The course is aimed at coaches/parents who are starting coaching for the first time or who have been coaching for a while but do not have any qualification. You do not need to be able to play Camogie to coach it well. You must be over 16 years of age to do this course. On completion of this Coaching Ireland certified course you will be qualified to coach Camogie to girls up to the age of 10 years.

Role of the Coach
Correct Hurley Length and Grips
Skill Development
Basic Fundamental Movements
Planning a Session
Mini Games
Course Duration
The course will last for approximately 8-10 hours run over two days (most likely Saturdays).
Course Venue
A large sports hall, pitch and large room (theory) are needed to run this course.
Course Co-Ordintator
Each County Board must appoint a course co-ordinator who liaises with the coaching committee secretary and tutors to ensure the course is run smoothly.
Participant Numbers
Maximum number of participants per course is 24.
Minimum number of participants 12
Participant Requirements

Participants will need pen and paper for the theory sessions, tracksuits, trainers and hurley for the practical session.
Booking Procedures
Please fill in a course booking form and return to the address on the form. Courses are granted on a first come first served basis. Please give a number of preference dates so that if your first preference date is booked, your second can be looked at in terms of availability.
