"Calling for Bookings" Verbiage!

Friends & Family or people on your "chicken" list:

"Hi Sheila, this is Nancy. How are you? (Keep idle conversation short) I won't keep you but a minute, but I'm actually calling to ask you a huge favor. I'm in a contest for my jewelry business right now (it can be wanting to have 25 jewelry shows before Christmas or wanting to earn a trip to DISNEY or I’m wanting to have 5 jewelry shows this month), and I was wondering if you could help me out. (Okay. What do you need?) I need a few friends who would be willing to have a couple of girlfriends over to play in my jewelry. It doesn’t have to be a big deal, just you and a few friends. I will give you some FREE jewelry just for helping me out…what do you think? ( If she says yes, continue with this)… Oh Wow, thank you so much ______!! I really appreciate it. Ok, the first 2 dates on my calendar I really need to fill for this FALL challenge are… ______and ______. Do you think either of those dates would work for you? Great!!

Get the date penciled in. If she says she needs to “look” first and she doesn’t have her calendar in front of her, ask if you can just pencil her in on one of those dates and when she gets a chance to look at her calendar she can call you back. If that doesn’t work you will gladly work with her to find another date because you really appreciate her helping you in your contest.

When hostess coaching her, definitely share the benefits of "the more the merrier" at her show. Let her know you do shows for "You & two, you and a few or you and a slew!" If she wants to keep it small and informal, no problem. But she'll win a lot more free jewelry if she invites a lot of ladies. And usually only 1/4th of the ladies she invites will be able to attend anyway.

If she says, "I wish I could help you, but our August/September is crazy and there's just no way." Say, "That's no problem. I totally understand. What do you think about later this Fall? You get a TON of free jewelry....just for having a few friends over to play in my jewelry box, and you would really be helping me out."

Past Hostesses or Hostesses that you haven’t talked to in a while.

“Hi Julie, this is ______, your favorite jewelry lady with Premier! How are you?"

(Keep the idle conversation short) "Do you have just a minute? ”

“Let me tell you why I’m calling. I'm actually in a contest for my jewelry business right now, and I was wondering if you could help me out. (Possibly....what's up?) It can be wanting to have 25 jewelry shows before Christmas or wanting to earn a trip to DISNEY!

*** I'm really just looking for a few ladies who would be willing to have a few girlfriends over to play in my jewelry box. It doesn't have to be a big deal, just you and a few friends, and as you know, you will get plenty of free jewelry for helping me out!

  1. “I’m calling all my favorite hostesses because our new Fall collection is here, and I wanted you to get the first choice of dates! I thought of you because we had SO much fun at your last show, and I would LOVE to help you update your jewelry wardrobe for FREE! Do you think you could get a few friends together on … offer dates … to see the new jewelry?” (What if she is out of town? Ask, "Would a weeknight or weekend work better for you?", and offer a couple of different dates.)
  1. “I can’t believe it’s been two years since your show! How are you? Have you been enjoying all of that free jewelry you received? Awesome! I wanted to let you know that our new Fall line is being introduced in just a couple weeks! I was hoping you’d like to be one of the first to invite your friends over to see it! My July is totally booked, so I’m primarily scheduling shows for September. I know a Thurs. night worked great for you last time. Is that still the best option for you? Great! I only have two Thursdays open in … offer dates. I would love to reserve one of those for you, and you would really help my team get in the lead in our challenge tonight! What do you think?
  1. The FALL is such a fun time for a show, and I wanted to fit you in before my calendar is totally booked! Everyone is so excited to see the new jewelry!! It is being introduced in a couple weeks and I can’t wait! My July is full, but I do still have a couple openings … offer dates. Do you prefer a weekend or a weeknight? Weekend? Great....I have Fri., the _____ and Sat., the ______open. Which date is better for you?”
  1. Here are some additional phrases you may like to incorporate:

a)“You know how my Fridays and Sundays book-up.”

b) "I was looking over my records and was reminded that you received $_____ in Free jewelry at your last show! That's incredible!"

c)“I do have a few dates left in ______. What night of the week is best for you? Tues.? Super! Tues. is a great night for a show. I have the 10th and the 17th open. Do you have a preference?’

d)“I’d love to pencil in a date for you, even if it’s tentative. You’d really be helping me out in my contest tonight, and I’ll call about 5 weeks prior to your show to confirm.” (“If you schedule a show with me tonight, I’ll have an opportunity to win a prize! What do you think?!”)

Note: When you call “5 weeks prior”, don’t say “I’m calling to confirm.” Instead say, “Hi Julie, I’m so excited about your show in Sept.!! I can’t wait to show you the new Fall collection!”....and proceed, assuming that show is HOLDING!

If she checked “maybe” some other time on her registration card.

“Hi Julie, this is ______, your favorite jewelry lady! I met you at Sarah’s jewelry show in April. How are you? I hope you’re enjoying your jewelry! I don’t know if you’ve talked to Sarah lately. Did she happen to tell you she received $250 in FREE jewelry from her jewelry show?! She was sooo excited!!”

I’m calling because I was looking through my records and noticed you checked off “Maybe” for a jewelry show in the Fall. Our new Fall line is out, so I'm already scheduling my Fall shows! I would love to help you get some free jewelry and reserve a date on my calendar for you!! I have a few dates open in Sept. and wondered if a weekday or weekend is better for you. Weekday? Great! How is a Tues. or Thurs? Super....I have Tues., Sept. __ and Thurs., Sept. ___ available. Which one do you prefer?

-If they say they can’t think about it until Oct. or Nov., go ahead and pencil them in on your calendar. Let them know you will be in touch with them a month prior.

-Ask them what day of the week works best for them. Always go for the earliest possible date on your calendar that you’d like to fill! Tell them what you have available and keep going until you secure a date.

Calling top customers.

“Hi Julie, this is ______with Premier Designs. I met you at Sarah’s show back in May. How are you? I hope you’re enjoying your Premier Designs jewelry!!”

  1. “I was calling some of my favorite customers (or, customers that looooove our jewelry) to let you know that our new Fall line out and it’s awesome! I’m actually in a contest right now to see who can schedule the most shows for the Fall, and I wondered if you could help me out. I know how much you love the jewelry, and I would love to do a show for you and help you get some FREE! You may remember that my average hostess receives about $______in FREE jewelry!!” (“I’m sure you’d love to be one of the 1st to see our new Fall line!”)
  1. Or...use the same verbiage in the first sentence in#1 above, then continue with....." I would love to schedule a time to stop by and show you my brand new samples. I'll be in your area the third week in July. Would you have a few minutes for me to stop by on either Tues. or Wed?" This is a great way to get your foot in the door. She may order a few things, but your ultimate goal will be to get her on your calendar for a show! You can be low key and ask if she'd like to invite a few friends over for coffee and playing in your jewelry.

HAPPY BOOKING EVERYONE!! The key is to PICK UP THE PHONE and make the calls!! You HAVE to set aside time for booking/prospecting calls in this business if you want to be successful!

I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT!! :)
