VAST Meeting

April 24, 2014

Attendance: Toni Duralski, Mary Whatley, Maureen Campos, Donna Sprouse, Deirdre McGrath, Nancy Tetrick, Veronica Adrover

Call to Order –The meeting was called to order by President, Toni Duralski, at 5:25pm at Nunes Agiliy Field.

Minutes–The minutes were approved as read, with a first by Nancy Tetrick and a second by Veronica Adrover.

Treasurer's Report - by Mary Whatley

  • VAST Club total financial assets to date are $9,586.77
  • February 2014 USDAA Trial income was $273.06
  • March 2014 CPE Trial income was $772.92
  • A Yearly Comparison Report was computed by Mary for the last 7 years for information - comparison shows a $9,000.00 loss in 4 years (does not include value of agility equipment)
  • Four thank you letters have been received from organizations that were given donations at the end on 2013 from VAST.

Committees:

  • Membership: An updated membership roster will be sent out soon
  • VAST CPE September 20 & 21, 2014 - per Nancy T. we have Judge Anna Potter and the premium has been approved but is not up yet
  • NAF USDAA May 3 & 4, 2014 - per Donna S. all entries will be entered shortly. There will be a potluck dinner on Saturday evening.
  • Of note - looking at the decreased number of entries in recent trials, it was discussed and determined that this may be due to an increase in area agility trials being offered due to the upcoming USDAA Nationals in October in Morgan Hill, CA and also AKC Nationals in March of 2015.

Old Business:

  • Equipment - Canopies have been repaired and the new Triple Jumps have also been repaired/corrected and received.
  • VAST T-shirt order per Toni D. - Still working on the order

New Business:

  • VAST Fundraiser per Deirdre - Possible fundraiser "Adopt a Poll" which is working at an election polling location in November. Possibility of raising $1,000.00 for a one-day job with 5 to 9 people needed. We would need to commit by July. Toni will send out an email to see if there is any interest.
  • CPE Judges Clinic - A clinic has been approved and will be offered at WAG at the end of June. Donna asked if VAST would be interested in helping out by purchasing lunch/snacks for one day of the judges and splitting the cost with the Bayteam. Donna Sprouse will be talking to Susan Rapillus about it and will forward the information as she gets it.
