Welcome.... We will suspend the meeting for two guests. Motion to suspend meeting was seconded, voted on and approved.

Karin Housely- She is running for Al Franken’s Senate seat.[i]She has worked on committees for commerce, jobs, veterans, aging and long term care. She supports motorcyclist’s rights. Asked if she would join a motorcycle caucus and she said yes.

Erica Dalager from American Income Life (AIL). This is the Life Insurance Company that SCVR has for all in good standing members. Each current member receives a $3500 Death and Dismemberment benefit. You will receive a beneficiary card in the mail. A representative will call you to set up a meeting. They are insurance sellers, so they will ask you to look at more policies. You can say no. They have some accidental and cancer policies. Their meeting may take up to an hour or more.

We are heading into riding season. Thanks to everyone who helped out at Donnie Smith and for packing up.

  • April 14th is The Nuts Run
  • April 21st Is the Flood Run. I need 6 Road Guards to help block an intersection from about 10:45 to 11:00. Help is needed at Shiners for parking. 8-11. Also, we will sell merchandise and memberships at The Nawti Hawg.
  • April 28th- Fury Open House Membership Drive Pork Chop will be playing. We need help from 8-5. Ron needs help with the food truck, serving food.
  • May 15th –Bikers on the Beltway
  • June 2nd- Chuck’s Ride Start at Fury and at VFW
  • June 9th- Amber Alert
  • June 30th- Patriot Ride
  • We need to move the May meeting to May 6th due to Mother’s Day. A motion was made to move the May meeting to May 6th. It was seconded voted on and approved. There will be a BOD meeting before and Adopt A Highway after.

Secretary’s Report: Julie Rice

A motion was made to waive the reading of the minutes and accept as written. There was a second to the motion. It was voted on and approved.

Treasure’s Report: Danni Archambault

The financials are on the table. Balance right now, $44,813. Payments have been made. A motion to accept the financial report as written. It was seconded, voted on and approved.

Merchandise Report: Michelle Moreno

Thanks to all my helpers for Donnie Smith. We will need help at the Flood Run and Fury Open House. Sign up at front table. We were invited by Amber Alert to set up at the Red Barn for their run June 9th.

Membership: Sheila Sumner

We have renewals coming in slowly. We are at 926 members, 100 below last year. You can renew on our scvr.org website and use pay pal.

Rider’s Education: Ron Lischeid:

Classes are on the motorcyclesafety.org. Sign up to improve your riding skills. There will be an Accident Scene Management class offered. We are running out of weekends. Let Ron know if interested. We need 25-30 people to have this class covered. It is free if you sign up, use a check for deposit, which will be returned on the day of the class. An Expert class will be offered.

Road Captain: Mike Classen:

Mike will have the rides and events up next month. Round Barn Run will be July 14th. Ride will start at No Name and end at the Gas-Lite. It will be a poker run style ride.

MN Legislative Report: Truman Clute:

Thanks for those who went to the capitol. Legislative session ends in May. I attended Heartland STEAM. Great connecting with other states and seeing their fights and bills that are being worked on.

WI Legislative Report: Dan Hren:

The session is done. Patty Schachtner added as co-author to SB636 Auto cycle Bill.

Public Relations: Joe Filipovich:

Working on events and posting info on FB. He and Danni went to KQ to look at advertising options for the Chili Feed. May use an eticket.

Adopt-A-Highway: Julie Rice:

Next AAH will be May 6th after the General meeting.

The web site is being updated regularly. Ride schedule will be posted.

Newsletter: Ron Lischeid

Newsletter is now getting organized. Send Ron anything you want printed in this one. He also needs help for our Fury Open House event in April, cleaning and foil wrapping potatoes, getting corn ready, and help with serving on that Saturday.

Advertising: Looking for one or more people to do this. Info for sizes and prices are on our website.

Sunshine Fund: Alisa Segelstrom

Whether good news or bad, please contact Alisa. Everyone needs a little Sunshine!! Get Well- Rick Wando, Beth Franz, Tom Pollard. Therese Hammett’s brother passed. Tab and Leslie got married.

MRF: Dan Hren

The Freedom Fighter Award went to Chairman of the Board of Directors and President of MRF – Kirk “Hardtail” Willard. AAA is very anti motorcycle.

***** June 15******** We will host a Town Hall Meeting for the gubernatorial candidates. It will start at 6:30.Bike PAC and SCVR will host. A motion was made to purchase up to $500 for food and beverages for the event. It was seconded voted on and approved.

Mark had a handout from The state fiscal motorcycle budget for us to look at and compare three options. We took a poll to the best option.

Member of the Month: Chris Hawkinson

Chris and his wife Brenda were married last year and celebrated Chili Feed weekend! He is a crane operator. He is an ex-motocross racer. He has many broken bones from this, and now prefers to ride for pleasure. He started riding at 9 years old. Chris just joined SCVR last year, and he has been a top notch volunteer, along with Brenda. When he has downtime, he spends it with his family. April 11th will be a special day, he will have finalization of adoption of Barrett. He is very excited for that. Thinks for all you do
