Call for practice form
This form should be used to summarise your practice. Practice examples must be based on an implemented practice and should include a learning outcome. Your practice example could be:
- an intervention
- a policing or partnership initiative
- a problem solving technique that has been applied to a local policing issue
- a summary of local practice
- a project
- an evaluation summary of an established policing method
- a training course of continuing professional development initiative.
Your practice example should focus on these areas of managing a conflict situation:
- resolving conflict without the use of force
- developing communication skills
- de-escalation tactics
- conflict management
- de-escalation/communication training.
The example should NOT contain practices that include use of force or ‘hands on’ techniques, as these are outside the scope of this call.
Your practice example will:
- help build on the knowledge of policing within the safer resolution area of policing
- support the development of evidence-based authorised professional practice.
