2017 Annual Convention & Industry Expo – June 12-16, 2017

Proposal Deadline: September 16, 2016

Thank you for your interest in submitting a proposal for consideration as an education presenter at the Retail Confectioners International (RCI) 2017 Annual Convention. The 2017 Annual Convention’s education sessions will be determined through a review process by the RCI Education Committee. Proposals and supporting information should be submitted to RCI by September 16, 2016:

Please review the following information before submitting your proposal:

· Education sessions will take place on Tuesday, June 13 and Wednesday, June 14, 2017. There will be between four and eight 50-minute break out sessions available. Session length includes time for participant question and answer.

· Audience Profile:

The audience is comprised primarily of candy store owners and staff who work in their businesses. The majority of the attendees will be from the United States, but members from Canada will likely be present as well. The median age is 45 years old, and they learn best from hands-on presentations or visual aids used in presentations and enjoy opportunities to interact.

· RCI is a non-profit organization with limited financial resources. If you require compensation or paid expenses for your presentation, please include your needs in the “Additional Information” area in Section 3.

· You will be notified if your proposal is chosen by the RCI Education Committee by November 2016.

All presentations must comply with federal copyright infringement laws. No materials copied from other resources without the express written consent by the author may be submitted for RCI events. If an instructor wishes to use materials from a publication, another conference or a source not directly written by the instructor, a copy of written consent to use and copy the material must be provided to the RCI office with your materials.

Speaker Responsibilities
§ Design and develop session content that matches the proposed title and description.
§ If the presentation is selected, work with RCI education committee and staff to finalize educational content and speaker information, including completing a speaker needs agreement.
§ Prepare a PowerPoint to be used during the presentation and made available for members on the RCI website. RCI will make copies of your prepared PowerPoint handout to have available at the event site for distribution. It is a requirement that these must be turned in to RCI by May 12, 2017 for review.
