The Young Presenter’s Award
To be eligible for the award, the investigator who presents the proffered paper orally in the meeting must be a trainee currently receiving training in a recognized training programme in Radiology, Nuclear Medicine or Clinical Oncology in Hong Kong. Overseas registrants who wish to have their papers considered for the Award should indicate in writing together with documentation of the training status.
The Hong Kong Society of Diagnostic Radiologists Trust Fund Award
The Hong Kong Society of Diagnostic Radiologists Trust Fund will present awards to radiologists for the best proffered paper presentation and the best poster in the specialty of Radiology.
Hong Kong Society of Clinical Oncology Award
Hong Kong Society of Clinical Oncology will present an award to the best proffered paper presentation in the specialty of Clinical Oncology.
Hong Kong Society of Nuclear Medicine Award
Hong Kong Society of Nuclear Medicine will present an award to the best proffered paper presentation in the specialty of Nuclear Medicine.
The Best Original Paper for Hong Kong Journal of Radiology
Hong Kong College of Radiologists will present an award to the best original paper for Hong Kong Journal of Radiology. Registrants who wish to have their papers considered for the Award should submit the manuscript of the proffered paper presentation, in addition to the abstract, to the College Secretariat by 31st August 2013. Please refer to “Instructions for Authors” for details of manuscript format.
Notes on submission of abstracts
1. All abstracts must be typed in English, using 10-point size Calibri in the space provided. Do not indent paragraphs.
2. Authors are required to submit abstracts in electronic format together with this form, which may be downloaded from www.hkcr.org. Abstracts should be saved in MS Word 2003 or previous version and submit to the College Secretariat via email at . If the submission is sent by post, the abstract should be saved in the file format mentioned above and in a CD-R. The disk must be labeled with the name, phone number and e-mail address of the sender, and the MS Word version used. Authors are reminded to ensure the file or the disk is virus free. Acknowledgement of receipt of the submissions will be by e-mail; please contact the College Secretariat if this is not received 1 week after your submission.
3. The abstract should be organized into the following paragraphs: Title; authors; objective; materials and methods; results; conclusion. The abstracts must not be written just to attract attention for the scientific selection but to be useful references for the practicing radiologist or physician.
4. Title should be in BLOCK LETTERS. Type Author(s) names(s) in lower case; underline the presenting author, omitting degree and qualifications.
5. The form and the abstract file should reach the College Secretariat, on or before 31st July 2013. Late submissions will not be considered.
6. Photocopies and submission by fax will not be accepted.
7. The Scientific Subcommittee will have the final decision on the acceptance of abstracts and session placement. The results will be notified in September 2013 via e-mail. Therefore, please kindly provide your e-mail address accurately.
8. Accepted abstracts will only be printed in the Programme Book if the Presenting Author has registered and paid the registration fee in full by 30th September 2013.
9. Authors with accepted presentation in PC format should submit their MS PowerPoint presentation, which should be saved in MS PowerPoint 2003 or previous version, to the College office on or before 18th October 2013 by mail. This should be saved in a CD-R. Please do not send it through e-mail. Late arrival will not be accepted. Owing to the tight schedule, presentation with private computer on site will not be entertained.
