Have you made a difference to patient care during the past year?
If you have, why not share your good work with other Trust staff? You can do this by submitting an abstract to the Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health professionals AHP 2017Conference and either deliver a presentation or prepare a poster*. Please note the theme for 2017 is ‘Innovation for Excellence’.
You may have made changes to working practice, conducted service improvements, or undertaken a piece of research which other staff would be interested to hearing about.
At the conference we will be running several concurrent sessions of oral presentationsprior to the lunchbreak;one of these sessions will be dedicated to research and others to clinical practice. The Conference provides a platform for sharing success and we are really keen to hear from you.
So why not get involved with this year’s conference and make a submission to be part of this exciting event?!
*Presentation and poster applications will be accepted for the conference following a selection process*.

You will need to submit the following information (form included at the back of this pack):
1.Name
2.Job title
3.Workplace
4.If appropriate, co-presenter’s name, job title, workplace
5.E-mail address or contact number of ALL presenters
7.Whether your work is clinical practice or research related
6.Subject and title
7.Indicate whether your submission is a poster or presentation
8.Please state what you think delegates can gain from your work
9.An abstract (maximum 250 words) summarising your work
In addition to the above, the judges will be looking for a variety of subjects to ensure a fair representation from all aspects of the organisation.
If your abstract is accepted you will be required to completeone of the following: (support is available to prepare for both options)
- Presentation:
You will be asked to deliver a presentation, lasting a total of 15 minutes, on your subject using PowerPoint™. This can be done as a solo presenter, as a pair / group or with a patient(s) if you wish. Please leave 3 - 5 minutes at the end of your 15 minute presentation to allow for questions.
- Poster:(support is available - please contact )
You will be asked to produce an A1 laminated poster that is representative of your work. Posters will be displayed on a board for conference delegates to view during refreshment and lunch breaks. You will not be expected to present this work to an audience. Support can be provided by the Trust’s medical illustrations team to convert your work into a final polished product.

Poster Guidance for Successful applicants
The poster should include:
1)Cleartitle
2)Objectives of your work
3)Background information
4)A description of the work you undertook
5)The impact of your work on patient care/experiences.
If successful, poster authors should contact Nicola Ruddock () in Medical Illustration to discuss their poster no later than Monday 1st May 2017.
