Call for 2017 Pre-conference Workshop Proposals
SAVIR 2017 National Conference
September 18-20, 2017

The SAVIR Training and Infrastructure Committee (TIC), together with the 6th Biennial National Conference Program Committee, is soliciting proposals for pre-conference courses/workshops. The selected pre-conference workshopswill be conducted the morning ofMonday, September 18th.
The goal of the pre-conference workshopsis to keep our members abreast of cutting edge concepts, methods and innovations in injury research and the application of research findings to practice and policy. We want to reach out to potential participants from different backgrounds including but not limited to students, practitioners, policymakers, and researchers. Proposal selection will be achieved by committee consensus and will take into account how the courses complement and enhance the scientific program of the 2017 National Conference. The theme of the 2017 conference is “Innovations in Injury Prevention Science.”
A pre-conference workshop is usually taught by one or more instructors on a topic that is apt for Injury and Violence Prevention research and of interest to many potential SAVIR conference participants. The pre-conference workshop can last up to 4 hours.
Proposals should include purpose, proposed content(s), objectives and competencies, and the potential target audience of the course, as well as short instructor biosketches. Evaluationof pre-conference workshop proposals will consider the clarity of the abstract, experience of the session proposers, relevance to the conference theme, how the courses complement and enhance the scientific program, and adherence to the submission guidelines.
Please complete the template for the proposal beginning on page 2 and email it to the SAVIR Executive Office, . Please include PROPOSAL FOR 2017 PRE–CONFERENCE COURSE in the email subject line.
All proposals for pre-conference courses must be received electronically no later than February 6, 2017. The Program/TIC Committee will notify individuals regarding the status of their proposals by March 1,2017.

- Precision Medicine Initiative - now the 'all of us' project at NIH - How should injury scientists think about this, inform it, use it?
