RF & IT TECHNOLOGIST AWARDS

PROCESS FOR AWARD NOMINATIONS!
Encourage Participation. We wish to encourage maximum participation in the Public Safety Awards Program (PSAP) at both the CPRA level, and at the APCO level. To this end, we will be using the APCO online application process for submitting nominations. This will standardize the nomination formats and allow CPRA nominees to compete more favorably at APCO. Plan to complete your nomination(s) using the online application process. It is user friendly.
Award Categories. There are two APCO “Technologist Award” categories. Please note that there are many job/position titles included within each respective category. See the APCO Application for job/position titles and duties. “Technologists Award” categories are as shown:
Information Technology (IT) Technologist of the Year
Radio Frequency (RF) Technologist of the Year
[Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer of the Year – CPRA Only]
Note: The “RF Engineer” is a subcategory of “RF Technologist”. Prepare and submit your nomination using the “RF Technologist” format. Include engineering terminology, responsibilities, and achievements. The nomination will be automatically considered for the CPRA “RF Engineer of the Year” Award.
Two Levels of Competition. Your nominee(s) will compete at the CPRA level and at the APCO level via a single online nomination form. This form is prepared using the website for the APCO Awards Program. (Please see attached instructions.)
Recognition.
CPRA - All nominees will receive recognition at the Annual “Technologist Award” Luncheon to be held on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at the Knott’s Berry Farm Resort Hotel. There will be additional recognition at the Telecommunicator Awards Banquet held in the evening.
APCO - Nominees winning first place in each respective category at APCO will be recognized at the APCO National Convention to be held in August (details to be provided).
Instructions. The instructions for submitting your nomination(s) are attached. They are easy to use. You may find it helpful to print the instruction page for use when submitting nominations. The deadline shown on the APCO website is shown as April 1, 2015. We (CPRA) need the nominations before that date so we can prepare the award presentations. Please use the CPRA Deadline of March 20, 2015.

INSTRUCTIONS-CPRA & APCO NOMINATIONS
DEADLINE: MARCH 20, 2015
PLEASE NOTE: NOMINATION PACKAGES MUST BE COMPLETED USING THE LINK TO THE APCO ONLINE APPLICATION PROCESS. THERE IS NO LIMIT TO THE NUMBER OF NOMINATIONS EACH AGENCY CAN SUBMIT. HERE IS WHAT TO DO:
1- Begin HERE.
2-Login using your email address and password. If not set up, select “Register.”
3-Once you are connected, select the appropriate award category, complete the nominee and nominator information, and then input the information for each of the criteria.
4-When complete, certify and submit the nomination according to the APCO online instructions. (Your nomination will be routed to the APCO Awards Committee for scoring. You will receive an email from APCO confirming receipt of the nomination.)
NEXT STEPS
5-Return to the LOGIN screen, and use the print icon next to “My Nominations” to print the nomination.
6-Submit your nomination to CPRA via email, U.S. Mail or hand delivery (addresses shown below).

-Hand Delivery. Deliver three (3) copies to any CPRA Executive Committee member prior to the deadline.
