CALCULATING PRO-RATA OFFERS TO NON PRIORITY CREDITORS
Once you have reached a monthly payment agreement with any priority creditors you can then calculate offers of payment to non- priority creditors based on your remaining surplus income (E).
The best way to do this is on a pro-rata basis so that all non-priority creditors receive a fair share of any money which is available.
- List all the individual debts and total the amount owed.
- Multiple each individual debt by your surplus income (E)
- Divide each by the total amount owed as per point 1.
In the event that no money is left over and no offer or only a token offer can be made seek further advice from The Student Advice Centre.
