Object of the contract

The present contract aims at providing the Lebanese Red Cross with blood product collection chairs at their mobile sites.

The CE marking must be taken into consideration. All the expressed needs must take into account the November 2012 “Principles of Good Transfusion Practices”.

The supplies and their specifications are described in the present Specification Clauses

Technical Specificatons

1.1. Purpose of the equipment

The equipment is used to conduct the drawing and collection of bags containing labile blood products and human biological products in order to conduct blood transfusions or plasma and cellular apheresis procedures, these could extend to between 3 and 5 hours long.

1.2. Applicable systems of reference

The principles, techniques, materials, accessories and consumables must comply with the national and international standards (including the CE marking) and with all personal safety and health norms.

1.3. Blood Sampling Chairs

They must guarantee the safety and comfort of both the blood donor and the person drawing the blood.

They must be sturdy. The backrests and seats must be resistant to disinfectants and be easily cleaned with commonly used detergents.

The system parts must not be fragile or easily torn.

The beds must be easily handled and sturdy in order to accommodate blood donors of heavier weight and build.

They must be manually adjustable to stand in different positions to meet the different needs and situations. They must allow the legs of the blood donors to be positioned higher than their heads.

Changes in position must be conducted easily without any effort exerted by the person drawing the blood and with no risk to the blood donor, even during use.

The beds must comply with the personal safety standards and requirements.

1.4. Required documents

The supplier must, at the time of delivery, provide the following documents:

  • A specification sheet that precisely mentions the installation modes and constraints
  • A user guide
  • The functional diagrams
  • The CE certificate of conformity

The lack of any of these documents will constitute a cause for non-admission of the equipment.

1.5. Spare parts

The list of spare and wearing parts, their frequency of replacement, and a price list shall be provided in the offer for illustrative purposes.

Their provision must be guaranteed for a period of ten years as of the date of installation of the equipment.
