Follow these directions if you applied for…
· CACTE/ACTE Career and Technical Education Teacher Awards, Apply for the award that best matches your career role & eligibility:
o Teacher of the Year-- For individuals currently employed as full-time secondary CTE teachers/educators
o Postsecondary Teacher of the Year-- For individuals currently employed as full-time postsecondary CTE teachers/educators
o CACTE/Administrator of the Year-- For individuals currently employed as full-time CTE administrators, program specialists, coordinators, and all other CTE personnel and staff (not employed as teachers or guidance professionals)
· CACTE/ACTE Outstanding Teacher in Community Service-- The ACTE Carl Perkins Community Service Award. This award is now open to all members (not just teachers) and is for “all members who have displayed a dedication to the improvement of CTE’s impact on the lives of individuals and communities.”
· CACTE/ACTE Lifetime Achievement Award-- for members whose dedicated contributions have been identified with the work and purposes of the Association over an extended period of time

Application Guidelines
Purpose
These awards recognize excellence and dedication within the field of career and technical education among our association members. We seek to commemorate exceptional individuals who have contributed to the success of CTE through the quality of their work and their involvement in the CTE community.
Criteria
The nominees will be evaluated on the following criteria:
• Accomplishments and innovations that exhibit the quality of the candidate for the award
• Contributions to the CTE community (can include activities within their institutions, communities, ACTE and other organizations)

Application Requirements
Applications for this award must include the items below (incomplete applications will not be considered):
1. Applicant contact & membership information (all candidates must be ACTE members to compete at the Region level)
2. Letter of Introduction including the following:
a. A brief overview of the applicant (ie. short biography/background information)
b. A brief summary of the candidate’s qualifications for this award
(Note: letter of introduction should not exceed 350 words in length.)
3. Support information: Please summarize the strengths of the candidate for this award. Include the following:
a. Accomplishments/innovations that exhibit the quality of the candidate
b. Contributions to the CTE community (can include activities within institutions, communities, or ACTE and other organizations.)
(Note: support should not exceed 1000 words in length.)
4. Letters of support: Each applicant is required to submit 2 letters of support recommending the candidate as relates to the above areas. Please submit letters from two of the following: a supervisor, a parent/guardian, a student, an employee, or a community leader.
5. Photo/headshot of the candidate: should be digital, high resolution (at least 300dpi), and submitted in .jpg format. Files 2MB or larger are preferred. (Note: photographs will be used for publicity purposes only.)
6. Interview [to be scheduled and completed after submission of application ONLY AT REGION V LEVEL]: Candidates selected for Region consideration will undergo a brief interview with the Region Awards Committee. The state level winners will not have interviews unless the awards committee determines it needs further information or clarification.
Candidates should submit their applications electronically on the CACTE/ACTE Awards Portal by June 1. States must choose and submit their winners for regional consideration by March 1. National winners will be selected by the ACTE Awards Committee. Regional and national winners will be commemorated at the Awards Banquet during CareerTech VISION.
Winning applicants permit CACTE/ACTE to use and edit content of the application for promotional activities.

All National ACTE Awards must be placed online. All Colorado ACTE Awards must be sent to the CACTE office as PDF and JPEG files. All must be completed by June 1.
Please complete this form and submit with your support materials and endorsement form (PAGE 2) to your appropriate State Association/Region Representative. All sections must be completed in order for this application to be considered.
